3.5mm stereo male to male cable... they are universal. One end goes into the back of the PC in the green color coded female socket, and the other goes into the monitor. Usually this cable would be included with the MONITOR since it has integrated speakers. If not, you can get one from Radioshack and probablt Best Buy, Circuit City, or even WALMART. Good luck to you.

An audio cable looks like this:

or this:

It can be any color.

Most computers have several holes in the back where you can plug this cable. Usually it's market "AUDIO OUT" or "SPEAKER." If you can't read the markings, use a flash light and look closer. If you still can't see any labels around the holes, then open Windows Media Player and start playing a music. Turn up the volume to max and while the music is playing, plug in the cable somewhere in the computer's back. If you can't hear any sound, then unplug it and plug it into different hole. Test each hole. If you plug it into the right hole, then you should hear the music.

If you've tried all the holes and still can't hear any sound, make sure that Windows Media Player is playing some loud music. Make sure the volume is UP not only in Windows Media Player, but the master volume controls should be pushed up too. You can find them by clicking on Start menu >> Control Panel >> Sound and Audio devices >> Advanced. Finally, if all the volume is up and still can't hear any sound, maybe the wire is broken somewhere, so move the wires a little bit, maybe it's just a contact problem...

Some computers have lots of audio plugs in the back, and some computers only have three. For example, here's one that has many holes:

You see there are 6 holes near the top center of the picture (red, green, blue, grey, black, and brown). And there are 6 on the bottom.

On the following example, you only have three holes for the audio cables, and the holes are not labeled, so you would have to test each hole to find out which one is the AUDIO OUT:

Audio cable plugs into the light green port on the back of your computer. It looks like the cable on a set of walkman headphones - only there aren't head phones on one end.

There should be a card with a diagram that has all the connections in an easy to follow diagram. Or just check the cords for the symbols on the plugs, that correspond to the correct plugs.
