I was wondering if Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade is an upgrade to Windows XP Home Edition, or can I put it into my compuer running Windows ME (Millenium) and UPGRADE to Windows XP.

To make that easier, can I but the Windows XP Upgrade, or do I have to but the full version thing. I was wondering because the supposive FULL version costs $200 and the upgrade costs $100.

If you have any questions about my question, just ask.

I have a PC card for my laptop that gives me wireless internet over Verizon's BroadbandAccess network. I want to use the card to set up wireless internet in my home via a wireless router, ideally without using a dedicated computer.

If I do use an old laptop to run the PC card's drivers and provide the slot for the card, how can I channel the internet access from the card into a router? Can I connect my laptop's ethernet port to the Uplink port on the back of a wireless router? Would I need a crossover cable for that?

I can get online by connecting to a local network, but I have to do this each time my computer is turned on. Most people I know can just turn on their computers and have internet at their house. I have a Linksys wireless router connected to my cable modem. My Dell laptop is "internet ready" and the Notebook Adapter card that came with the router will not fit in my laptop. How can I establish a Local Area Connection? The "diagonsed" problem is that a cable is unplugged.
