Open a file in Excel 2007 from the MRU list and there seems to be no way to figure out where that file actually lives on the disk. How can I determine the path of the file that is opened?

Just do a "Save As" and it will open to the directory where the file resides. You don't actually have to save the file again, just click "Cancel".

Inside of a spreadsheet: Tools | Options | General | Default file location

Open the file again, then do a "save as" this will show you the path.

Alternative is to look at the properties for the file when it's open. (file/properties)

Do "save as" There is also a way to add it to the header and footer so that will work. Also, there is a formula that you can add in the cell of the worksheet itself to display the path.

=INFO("directory") -- returns path of the current directory or folder.
