I was wondering if Windows XP Home Edition Upgrade is an upgrade to Windows XP Home Edition, or can I put it into my compuer running Windows ME (Millenium) and UPGRADE to Windows XP.

To make that easier, can I but the Windows XP Upgrade, or do I have to but the full version thing. I was wondering because the supposive FULL version costs $200 and the upgrade costs $100.

If you have any questions about my question, just ask.

"Upgrade" means from a prior MS operating system, like ME.

You can have the upgrade.

The full version is for putting on a machine that doesn't already have a Microsoft OS installed on it.

XP Home edition is the full and the upgrade is for upgrading later versions of windows. i would go for the full version even since it costs more because if you wanted to do a format on your hard drive in the future, you will have to install ME again then upgrade again. it would be easier to get the full version because you can either upgrade from a later version of windows or do a full install.... In my opinion, i like windows XP Pro a lot better then Home. Pro is more for business because it has more networking capability and more security but i use it on all my computers here at home...

You can run ME and XP. You can partition the hard drive and run both. I run XP and Vista. Upgrade is the way to go, all it means is that you already have a version of Windows and are upgrading to a newer version. If you have the specs to run Vista i would do that, but you might not have the power with graphics card memory and prcoessor, but XP is more secure than ME. Upgrade and save the money.
