Floppy discs and floppy disc drives are notoriously unreliable! Have you tried with more than one floppy? If not, try another one. That will at least tell you whether the disc has become corrupted or it's a fault with the drive.
If the drive appears faulty, try checking that the cables are secure. If it's the disc, well there's not a lot you can do about it. You can try it in a friend's computer - they can be very fussy!

Diagnosis method :
Try a different disc : Success = U had bad disc Failure = continute to next step

Try discs in another KNOWN GOOD drive : Success = you have hardware issue, failure = time to buy new batch of discs

If the PC has been opened recently, reopen, check floppy cable is firmly atached and if you had the cable OFF at ANY time, double check the red stripe on the cable is at pin 1 on th drive. Usually if the cable is on backwards the light on drive stays on all the time.

Still no luck, buy a new floppy drive.

It could be the disk, it may be corrupted; it could also be that the drive itself is bad or disonnected inside the PC.
