A couple days ago i was going through my computer deleting some crap i had put on like random things that i know wouldn't harm my computer and after deleting some things i looked at my computer and at my memory and it had gone from 1.62 to 1.49 free space in 2 days and i didn't install anything new... anyone know whats going on? thanks a bunch

When you place your mouse pointer over the time (in the bottom right corner) in Windows XP, the date is supposed to show in a little box until you move the pointer away, isn't it?

Why is it then that when I do it, the date only sometimes shows (e.g it won't show now, but did all yesterday), and sometimes doesn't? Could this be a virus on my system? I have all of the updates, and Norton and Kaspersky do show all clear!

I recently signed up for Comcast cable. It works great on the laptop the tech set it up on, which my wife takes to work every day. However I would also like to use the same connection for a second laptop that stays at home. The tech said all I had to do was plug the ethernet cable into the 2nd laptop and it would work. However it does not. Any suggestions as to what to do? We have a Motorola SB5101 modem. Wife's laptop uses XP professional; the other Windows 2000 prof. Both are IBM Thinkpads.

I have a huge problem: I had an oscommerce site for 9 months, and now I want to make a lot of improvements on it to make it work. it includes blog, newsletter sign up, web site frame change and easier navigation, more payments options. I have contacted 5 web designers so far, and all of them are saying that this site is done, it will be too expensive to fix it as it has a lot of bugs (70 found) and that I will be better of to have a jshop instead of oscommerce or generally ecommerce. I had a look at prices of jshop and general ecommerce, and it costs a lot, around £3000... i dont know what to do as it is too much. Please advise me on that.

p.s. i was given a cheaper option by my web hosts to buy another new oscommerce site which is EROTICCATdotCOdotUK . is it any good?

My laptop is on 24/7 because I am running some programs and it has to be on all the time. But sometimes my laptop restarts itself after I went to bed, and that really cause problem for me. Anyone know why it restarts and how can I prevent this problem? Thx!!!

I have quite happily been printing documents from my computer.Now for some reason i can print off line and the printer test works but as soon as i attach the printer to the computer nothing happens.I checked the printer details on my laptop and it states there is a quewe of documents waiting to be printed.Any ideas what i have done wrong.

Somethin with a glossy finish like the HP pavillions
Needs to have around 120GB and a DVD-RW

Ive been looking at the HP pavillion series, the 6000's, they are pretty good, but someone told me that toshiba was more reliable. Not sure really what to look for..

Um... actually, I want a program that can schedule my LAN access. Thing is, I want to turn on my broadband connection at 2 am and switch it off by 8 am... I lose a lot of sleep doing this and I'd really like to use a scheduler for this..... any ideas?? thanks....

I need somebody to tell me how to uninstall and reinstall all of my drivers, because I'm having device driver errors, and I was told the only way to fix it is to reinstall all of my drivers....... I got and exception code when I blue screen(which I do quite often in my game) 0x0000001E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFFADFE5D522CA, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000) its not the game I know that and my computer is more than capable handling the game. I havea dual core processor, 1 gig of ram and a radeon 1600x. I've checked all update on windows updates. I just need to know how to reinstall all my drivers. Please help

I have got a Netgear wireless router. This is connected to my PC via cable and my laptop via wireless. I can access the internet etc in my laptop and pc. Now I need to transfer data from my PC to the laptop. The laptops ethernet port is not working due to driver issue. Hence need to use the wireless way. I tried wireless networking at the dealers shop using their Netgear router and could access their shared files and drives on my laptop. I used the same settings at home. Assigned the same workgroup to both. My laptop has detected my PC in the network, but cant open the computer. Displays the error-"path not right". I assigned full share permission to a drive and some folders in the PC. Still nothing. And the PC does not even detect the laptop. I feel there is some setting issues in the PC. PC runs on winxp and laptop on winxp sp2. The IP addresses of both are different. Netgear router is WGR614v7. Anything needs to be enabled in this?

My pc HP used to work perfectly fine, i have anti virus and i have my pop-up block turn on, but since this last two months my computer is always getting pop up and some weird webiste comes up everytime i open the internet.

i would appeciate it if you could help me. and walk me step by step to get rid of it.

Anothing thing my desktop icon my friend did something with it because the letters in my icons are all with highlight and i don't like it and i want it back to normal and my friend who did it doesn't know how to put it back they way it was.
