my pc has been going really slow! so i have delete files and cookies and all that,but its still going slow so i thought i would go to add/remove programmes and i have found these files! i dont no anything bout computers so if you could tell me if i can delete them or not? thanx

microsoft.NET framework 2.0 ?

microsoft compression client pack 1.0 for windows xp ?

microsoft user-mode driver framework feature pack 1.0?

and also do i need 2 of these ?

windows media format 11 runtime ?

windows media player 11?

and why wont it let me delete adobe flash player 9 activex? it dont work because i get that thing that comes down and says you need to download a flash player 9 activex !?

my computer only has a 7gb hard drive and i only have about half a gb of free space. Ive tried the defrag, disk cleaner, c cleaner and just about everything i could think of. the computer says that over 6 gb are in hiddin files and ive even searched through those! any1 got any bright ideas other than buying something new?

My computer guy told me that its OK to leave my PC on all the time otherwise it'll cause more wear and tear to the hard drive if I constantly turn it on and off. But I really don'y like to see the thing running 24/7, should I turn it off when I sleep because I'm afraid the thing will burn up if i leave it on all the time???

i need a cheep but reliable wireless link between two buildings. it is approximately 500ft with a good amount of trees in between. runing a cat5 wire is not an option. i need something that would allow me to run a 75ft ethernet cable from my router to a post outside to allow me to get a line of sight. the building i need the internet in has too many walls , so i will need a bridge client on the roof and run an ethernet cable to the computer.any suggestions for equipment and what i would need to do to hook it all up? thanks

My dad's friend lives in this area in California where it is in an open field and sort of abanded from oother locations. Wireless networks aren't accessable and even my dad's laptop with a sprint card that can get on the internet anywhere can't get on. The rest of california is sort of miles away from him, so he can only use dial-up.

Is there a way he can get a better internet connection even though they are miles away from using anything else?

I know that info. can be obtained from your computer like your SS#, bank acct and c card info etc. But could someone have so much access to your computer that they could:

* CHANGE SETTINGS (actually type in info)
* DOWNLOAD or DELETE programs

Pretty much have as much control or maybe even more control of my computer than I do? If so, HOW WOULD I KNOW? or HOW COULD I FIND OUT?

I ask this since when you have http//:www.whatever.com/filename won't it take additional time on a dial up for the image or page to be found as the ip address needs to be found for each image and page.

recently went wireless and know that with my wired connection had an average 6-7mb speed. however since going wireless my speed has slowwed badly.

ive got a 54mbps router (Orange livebox)
ive got a 802.11g wireless card
ive got the router pretty close ( 4-5mtrs) with no major solid walls in the way

ive heard on here that i could maybe change the channel of the router cos i have picked up another 5 connections in the area, but havent a clue how to do this.

any ideas guys?!?!?
