Recently upgraded my 6600gt graphics card to an x850xt pe (agp). Ran 3DMark03 and my score went from 7800 to 12100 which was promising, but when it comes to games the performance increase is minimal, as an example, the Lost Coast benchmark score went from 65.32 to 67.62.
Another odditiy is that with my new card the average fps stays pretty much the same whether I'm playing in 800 x 600 resolution right up to 1280 x 1024. Is this an example of the CPU bottlenecking the graphics card? Here's the rest of my system:

AMD XP2600+ Mobile Barton @ 2.3Ghz
1GB PC3200 DDR RAM
250GB SATA HD

I got FSX a while back and it didnt run too well on my old laptop

HP DV6116
- 2.0Ghz AMD Turion Single Core Processor
- 1 Gig ram
- Geforce 6150
- 100Gb Storage
- Windows Media Centre 2005 Edition

My new laptop however is:

Toshiba A100-338:
- Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 Processor 1.6Ghz
- 1Gb Ram
- Intel GMA 950 128Mb (maybe 256MB)
- 100Gb Storage
- Windows Vista Home Premium

If you could help me that would be so great :)

Also I wanted to know if having a 1.6Ghz dual core would essentially mean that I had upto 3.2Ghz of power. I don't think it means that but it does confuse me.

I month ago I literally found my first laptop. It was in a box in my attic. Anyway I have been using it to surf the net, email etc., but my nephew wants it and I want to "spruce" it up. How much can be done?

It has one USB 1.0 port and two of those card slots (I already put a wireless card in one), there is no Ethernet slot and the hard drive I am sorry to say is only 4GB (almost full). I think it is a Pentium II right now. Thanks for any help. Oh by the way I wont be doing any of these "upgrades" I have a geek squad near my house.

I used to have McAfee installed on the computer but have removed this totally from the computer. I would like to remove the Anti Virus Shield but when I do this it says that the programme is already running and that I should close it. Would be grateful of any suggestions and also links or programmes that would help remove it.

Could you suggest any other programmes that are free and could help protect my computer?
