Computers & Internet - 13 June 2007

when I work on the computer for about 10-15 min. an error message pops up. It automaticly shuts down. The internet shuts down back to my original screen.

The computer was unplugged and brought to us, it still had windows and basics all on it, i.e Internet Explorer etc. We can not not get past set up, is giving us messages to check hardware or software is properlly installed...Tried to select safe mode but would not start up. The Technical Information says: ***STOP: 0x000000ED (0x81ED3590, 0xC000000E, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) - PLEASE HELP Is a grouse new computer and we cant even set it up, is devestating, and i have none of the disks that would have come with it etc, i have only the disks from my laptop (which i am still using, due to unability to set up computer.............)

Within the sports and finance section I notice several dead links where nothing opens. Particularly the standings link in the baseball section under sports and the chart numbers under stock charts in the finance section. How can I report these links if they are broken or is it my computer? I've rebooted, used clean disk, defragmentor...you name it. I don't have this problem on other sites, just the same links within Yahoo, time and time again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My ram is 1gb but my processor is 1.5. My laptop is working very slow. I norticed that when I open task manager that my 'PF Usage' will be 431mb but my 'CPU' usage will always be around 95%. I defragmented my hard drive but my pc is still slow. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Recently, i bought a brand new ATI All-In-Wonder 2006 Edition, and on the box it says it is for AGP Buses. After i read the manual, it said that it is for a 8x/4x AGP slot. I have a VIA P4ma Pro (the 533 supporting one), and it have a 4x/2x AGP slot. I have't try it and please tell me if it will work, because it took me almost one year to find this "rare" graphic card.

When I turn on my pc I get a blue screen with this written on it:

Everything worked fine until I made the mistake to let my 17 year old son on the computer, he thinks he's a genius... well.. obviously not cause he left me with a blue screen.

i just got an emac for a local surplus store. i want to put mac osx on it. it does not have a hard drive but i have one at my house which can be used for mac. my friend is going to let me borrow his mac osx disk that came with his ibook he just brought last week. The disk says restore. Will that still let me put mac osx on this computer. that has a new harddrive with nothing on it. please help.

i just noticed that when i open IE it takes about 2 mins for it to open. When i add a new tab the same thing happens, IE just freezes for about 2 mins before the new tab appears. It wasn't like this yesterday. My Firefox and Opera is working just fine though. I tried to sweep with spysweeper and scan with norton antivirus. Found no viruses although spysweeper did remove some adware but IE still has the same problem. please help. Thanks.

I'm using Windows XP on a Dell computer. I left click my mouse and highlight a portion of the screen. Place the cursor over that region and right click the mouse.
In the pop-up display -
CUT - is faded and won't work
COPY - is bold
PASTE - is faded
SELECT ALL - is bold
PRINT - is bold
The faded words are like they are inactive -
I just tried the cut & paste feature while typing this question and it will work here.
Would someone please help me to repair the cut & paste feature. Thanks in advance.

I have a laptopDell-D610 and recently the computer got all messed up and my mom sent it to her friend to fix. He sent it back and yeah it was fixed, but its not connecting to the internet. I called him back and he said "look on the website" and it didn't help since I need someone to step by step and to the point tell me what to do.I have a PC running Windows XP and its connected to a DSL Cable Modem and works fine.The Linksys 2.4 GHz Wireless Router is also connected to my PC already and my uncle did it so i dont know what I'm suppose to do with that..or if it has an installation cd or anything, but Please if anyone knows what I can do to get my laptop up for the internet PLEASE itd be greatly appreciated the laptop has been set up before with the router by my uncle dont know how he did it..but all i know about it being fixed is that he [mothers friend] deleted everything and installed windows XP it again i believe it is a wireless connection if i go to CONNECT TO
