if you get the correct RAMs for you laptop then there should not be a problem at all. this is will fasten up you computers processes. The laptop becoming slow can be due to several reasons. it can be a virus, too many unwanted programs or the storage space (hard drive) may be getting full. check these problem and then only upgrade you laptop RAM, and make sure you get the correct model to match you laptop otherwise the laptop mught end up hanging all the time. let me know of the proceedings and best of luck

Here are some possibilities why your laptop is slow:
1) There could be bugs in the system. Make sure you have a antivirus program, antispyware program and firewall software to clean out the bugs and keep them out...
2) You have to many programs/process running upon startup. This eats up system resources (especially RAM space) which leads to deterioration of performance.
3) Regularly clean out the following foldes:
* C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp
* C:\Windows\Prefetch
* C:\Windows\Temp
* Recycle Bin
and then perform Disk Defragmenter on a regular basis (once or twice a week).

Do yourself a favor and go to the below link and download, install, and then run the free program called "Advanced Windows Care Personal". When you get to that web site, scroll partway down and click on "Get Freebie". You'll be pleasantly surprised at just how many unnecessary pieces of programs are loaded and in memory once the scan is done. Then just click on the "Repair" bar, and sit back and watch it work. Exit the program, reboot, and you'll see a large difference. Hope this helps.

If you got any Norton products that came with the laptop that's why it's slow. Norton AntiVirus and Internet Security are bloatware junk that slows down even the fastest PC's.
