I ask this since when you have http//:www.whatever.com/filename won't it take additional time on a dial up for the image or page to be found as the ip address needs to be found for each image and page.

The images will take longer to load, as another host has to be contacted to fetch the images. The links won't take any longer to load, as they're just text until the page viewer clicks.

For a webpage optimization report, use:
http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/wso.php?url=
and after the url= paste the full website address ... such as http://www.mydomain.com

truthfully the "extra" time it will take for the page to download is so small (even on dial-up) that its not that big of an issue... we're talking a kilobyte of HTML at the most... not at all an issue
