How does the time also automatically adjust for Daylight saving time?

I presume you have Win XP. It gets the time from an external time server. The time server actually gives it GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

Your pc has to be set for your time zone and for daylight saving time if you have daylight time.

Double click on the clock icon in the lower right corner; select time zone tab; you may wish to reset the time manually at first too.

Double click the time on your computer in the lower right hand corner. Then click the Internet time tab. This should answer your question.

Each computer has its own Groddle inside, basically a very small swiss midget, who keeps it in sync with GMT.
