Go to "My Computer" (or push the start button on the keyboard between Ctrl and alt it looks like a flag and push E) My computer is located in the start menu. Then click the right button on you mouse on the hard drive you want to know about (C:/). then left click on properties this will show you a pie chart the blue being used space the pink being free space. It will also tell you How MBs or GBs are in each catagory.

Go to My Computer > right click Local Disk (C:) and select properties. The pink on the pie chart represents your free space.

open my computer (click the plus sign to expand disk drives)
right click on any disk drive (c:, d: etc) and click properties.

there's also a free program called "windirstat" that shows you exactly whats on your drive as a graphic. download and install and it's show you where your space went.
