I suspect you have the Windows updates set for automatic update and auto installation. When an update requires a reboot and you are configured for auto update adn auto install it will reboot.
Change your update settings for auto update but manual installation. Install when it is convenient for you.

I would suspect that because it runs so much it is probably overheating. You may want to try checking the vents on it and make sure they are not all dusty or clogged. Maybe relocate it to a cooler location or try one of those laptop stands that has a fan built in to run it cooler. Laptops are really not designed for 24/7 operation, so you have to take added precautions with keeping it in the safe CPU temp range.

It may not be the room that's affecting your computer. It could be the time. Do you only take your laptop into your bedroom at night? Check that the time and date is correct on your laptop. Also check that you're set to the correct time zone and the right year.

Something is updating and restarting to finish the update. Turn off anything that will update your software or set the programs to only install when you tell it to and not to do it automatically. I'd check to see if windows update is on as well as any adobe programs(like acrobat reader) as they both will update and restart by default.

sometimes my computer does that. maybe windows is trying to update itself. or if you put up a new software on your computer usually it restarts itself. hmm but i'm not sure why every night. you may wanna talk to a professional. or go to the official site for that certain computer brand (dell, mac..etc.) and go online and go to their official website and go to FAQ they'll probably have something on that and if they don't not they'll probably have you call them or maybe tell you to email them your problem!

Well for one laptop should never be left on 24/7, they over heat very easy and were not meant to be left on to all hours, it over heats, damages both the motherboard and battery. (Desktop were meant to be left on for all hours).
So my best guessis it is over heating. I would suggest from here on our, that when you are away from the computer, you turn it off and unplug it, before you bring further damage to the laptop.

...if you run either xp or vista...they install automatic updates wihout asking you...then they give you a roughly 5 minute period to delay the reboot...if you miss it, then it reboots on it's own
