Um... actually, I want a program that can schedule my LAN access. Thing is, I want to turn on my broadband connection at 2 am and switch it off by 8 am... I lose a lot of sleep doing this and I'd really like to use a scheduler for this..... any ideas?? thanks....

The easiest way to do this is not an IT solution.

Go to the local hardware store and buy a light timer. It plugs into the 120 V AC outlet and the lamp plugs into it. You set the time of day you want the light to go on and when you want it to go off.

Instead of plugging a lamp into the timer, plug either the modem or the router into the timer, set the time for it to go on and the time for it to go off and your in business. When the modem is not powered, the internet connection is disabled.

Sigh.. another user of BSNL.. I'd not recommend you to try any methods.. many are recommended on different sites.. all have failed and the users have ended up paying a huge bill.. rest a bit less.. but do not take risk with the bill of BSNL

You might check out help in this forum:

I'm a mod of that forum and it is specifically for Indian ISP related problems

To the others that have replied back.. there is a huge problem with the clock of that ISP's server (the one that records usage logs).. and the difference in time varies.. so best way is to manually login.. logoff.. check the login-logoff time in their usage portal and after being sure that the server time shows more than 2am.. start your schedule.. and count the hours from then :P

You can configure most Linksys routers to turn off/on internet connectivity based on a schedule.

Maybe put your router/modem on one of those plug-in timer things that you can use to control your lights with? You know, one of these thingies: http://www.nextag.com/plug-in-timer/search-html
