Good day. I did a clean install of windows XP on one of my friends laptop. They asked me to activate windows. The product key is under my friends laptop on a certificate like sticker and i entered it. Everytime i reboot, they are still asking me to activate windows. I mean i can use the product ket and activation code here on my laptop and put it on the other but i dont want both of us in the future get that microsoft genuine advantage crap cause my copy of windows is genuine. Help? Laterz.

So yesterday, I downloaded "Codec 4.0" for Windows Media Player, and two seconds later...POP...SPYWARE. I have this program called Freedom, it's free if you have Adelphia Cable Internet (or what is now called "Time Warner Cable"), and it use to work like a charm, but I delete all my spyware files with that program, but they're still THEREE. I treid Spyboy Search & Destroy, but it doesn't work neither.

Now I have to live with "Virus Burst" on my taskbar 24/7, and watch it pop up saying "Critical System Error! Download VirusBurst!" every four seconds. I'm getting so mad, and I would appreciate any help that can be offered.

By the way, NO, I am not paying for some spyware program when I already have two that *SHOULD* be working.

i feel like i have to charge my laptop a lot. it is on everyday for the most part for a few hours. i just got it like two weeks ago. it's a macbook. i know the manual said something about doing something to it so the battery life would increase but i'm not sure what it said?

Using Internet Explorer, I updated Windows XP with Service Pack 2 a couple days ago. Now I have two major problems:

1. Start up brings a log in page which wasn't there before.
2. It claims my version of Windows XP is a counterfeit.

Has anybody else run into this issue(s) and can anyone give a hint on some fixes for this?

I have tried inputing my version of Windows XP Product Key as on the bottom of my computer and it claims it's not real.

I'm clueless how to bypass the log-in screen to make it stop coming. I currently enter no password to continue, but that's cumbersome as I had it working before just right.

comcast says that it is a problem with my anti virus software, but when I contacted Norton, they had me try a lot of didderent things, to which none worked. I can not open underlined links from any where, mail, open pages, etc. It will not even open pic links likes news and sports either. Need help urgently. It will not open any thing in a new window, even when I right click and tell it to.
