Right click the "My Computer" icon (warning: do not use the my computer shortcut icon) > Properties > Advanced tab > under "Performance" click [Settings] > Advanced tab > under "Virtual memory," click [Change] > select "Custom size" > calculate the virtual memory you need (RAM x 1.5, e.g. RAM = 1.0 GB then Virtual memory = 1.0 GB x 1.5 = 1.5 GB) > enter in the same number for both initial size and maximum size > click [Set] > [O.K.] > [Apply] > [O.K.] > Reboot

Go to your control panel. Click on the system icon then select the advanced tab. Click on the settings button in the performance section. Click on the advanced tab again and at the bottom there will be a button that will allow you to change your virtual memory settings.

Go to your start menu.... Control Panel.... Performance and Maintenance.... System.... Under the System Panel go to the Advanced Tab... Click the Performance (Settings) Button.... It will bring up a new panel... Click on the Advanced Tab.... You will see Virtual Memory towards the bottom... Click change, then you can change it to whatever amount you want it at.
