So yesterday, I downloaded "Codec 4.0" for Windows Media Player, and two seconds later...POP...SPYWARE. I have this program called Freedom, it's free if you have Adelphia Cable Internet (or what is now called "Time Warner Cable"), and it use to work like a charm, but I delete all my spyware files with that program, but they're still THEREE. I treid Spyboy Search & Destroy, but it doesn't work neither.
Now I have to live with "Virus Burst" on my taskbar 24/7, and watch it pop up saying "Critical System Error! Download VirusBurst!" every four seconds. I'm getting so mad, and I would appreciate any help that can be offered.
By the way, NO, I am not paying for some spyware program when I already have two that *SHOULD* be working.

Actually, the two best anti-spyware programs are free. Download Ad Aware from Lavasoft and Spybot Seach & Destroy. Be sure to read the End User Licensing Agreement for Spybot, it's the most fun and honest EULA you will ever come across.
If those don't do the trick, Google the spyware you're having trouble with and you will probably find a forum telling you how to get rid of it.

download webroot spy sweeper from download.com or just format your pc. had the same problem before and it makes you go nuts. Try to avoid pornographic sites and playing media files which require a license or a codec to be downlaoded..... hope it helps and one more thing don't go to this site called coolquiz.com it has more dangerous weapons in its arsenal than virus burst

I highly recommend you download superantispyware. It will remove any and all spyware. It is VERY effective and it is free.
