I just bought a laptop and the 30 day trial for Norton has just expired. I don't really want to pay for a renewal since a friend told me there are plenty of free virus protection services out there that you can simply download for free. I am in europe so I download a lot of american tv to watch and i know that downloading can be the source of a lot of viruses. Anybody know where to get good, cheap protection....for the computer ;)?

I have a mutual wireless internet connection from my neighbor in a three unit (converted house), my neighbor lives in the unit across from me - I initially bought a Belkin wireless to connect and decided I wanted to move the computer to the other bedroom so I bought a wireless antenna to make the signal stronger - as of late my signal has been at a constant "low" or "very low" which has hindered my moving the computer to the new room. Is there something I can do to make the signal stronger so I can move the computer out of my living room?

This drivecleaner virus disguised at freeware got onto my hard drive. I can't get rid of it. It keeps warning me that there is porn on my hard drive. I'm well aware that its there and its reassuring to know that at least somenody is getting some. How do I get rid of drivecleaner? Tried add/remove programs and didn't see it there?

when I start my computer it takes so long to start, I keep watching the blinking light on my PC and it takes about 8 minutes tel it stops blinking, then i know that my computer is fully started ?

I have aol 9.0 and windows xp. Is there a way that I can give each of my kids there own sign on for aol and then put a time limit on that sign on. Like if one kid signs on and their time limit is one hour, when that hour is up the computer signs them off or something like that?

Does anyone know good places to put my film online? Its too long and big for YouTube. Its about 12 mins long and 350mb, thugh of course that can change if encoded to different formats. I've put it up on Google Video using the specifications they suggest and it looks very pixellated and rubbish. Any suggestions for sites or best specifications for Google Video?

The instructions sheet says you have to connect the monitor to the computer throught either the cable with the blue terminal or the white terminal. It also says to connect the USB cable.
The pictures show something different.
When I connected the cable with the blue terminal and the USB cable, the computer displayed an error.
Then I connected the cable with the white terminal and the USB cable, then the monitor and computer worked fine.
Please tell me which option below is better:
1.- Cable with white terminal and USB cable.
2.- Cable with white terminal only.
3.- Cable with blue terminal and USB cable.
4.- Cable with blue terminal only.

What is that USB cable for?

I have a COGECO high speed line, that i share with four people via wireless router. Notmaly it gives no pain, but whenever i run ares the network disconnects every few minutes. it says no connection available and and a few seconds later it reconnects again. And it not only happens to me, everyones connection gets disconnected when i run ares, the same way my connection disconnects. Can anyone tell me what to do so that i can run my ares properly.
