Why? Is it just because they want to look cool? Or is there a deeper reason? Do they pretect you against road burn? You'd think that SOME Motorcyclist's wouldn't but pretty much all of them do....???

How much practice does it take to do this kinda stuff? like if I devoted 1 or 2 hours a day, 3 to 4 times a week? I know it's different for everybody but just an average? I pretty much suck right now, been riding for 2 years...

Many of the guys in my club have gotten the HD shield tattooed on their lower backs right above their butts. I think its pretty cool but with so many of the guys in my club getting the same tattoo it may not be cool enough. We essentially all ride the same bike and wear the same outfits, so I guess it really doesn't matter too much - what do you all think?

the clutch is still working ok, but when i removed the clutch cover to check it was nothing dangerous i noticed the clutch basket has gouged a groove out of the inside of the cover. the niose only occurs when the lever is pulled in and there is nothing loose and no obvious free play in anything behind the clutch cover.I have not touched anything on this engine prior to this noise appearing, any ideas would be appreciated.

My ex is an ahole, he brought my daughter home yesterday on the back of his harley, the drive is 45 minutes long and she is 7 yrs old and so tiny, if he hit a pot hole she'd go flyin. Any ideas on what I can do to make sure he won't do it again. I already called my lawyer.

why the segregation? why do harley riders hate crotch rocket riders and vise versa? from what i can tell crotch rocket riders are "wusses" and harley riders are "posers". i just started riding and i waive to everyone and have had harley riders waive to me so i dont get it. we are all on bikes and im sure when you break down you wont care who comes to help as long as its not Godzilla.

Thinking about buying an old Honda Pacific Coast 800. It's an ugly color, and beat up. It's mostly luggage and fairing plastic. Can plastics be painted? Where can I get this done, Los Angeles, and how much will it cost? Should I dismantle the motorcycle myself and just bring the parts that need paint?

Hello folks. I got a new battery for my Suzuki SV650 today. It came with two strips, or racks, of plastic bottles (six in each) containing acid and the instructions only mention using one of these. Do i use both or is the second lot a spare or for topping up later? It is a sealed battery type. Also, one of the first six didn't empty, not pierced properly I guess. Should I take it off before this one empties? I have tried tapping it etc but can't get it to go in. Any advice?

I've almost bought one. It is such a beautiful bike. It was imported fromjapan. So there are no fluids in it. So I'm buying it without even starting it. I just kicked it once to make sure it's not frozen. But I'm paying only 270$ for it.
So are they good bikes? Do they move? Any one's got one?

I've got a 1978 Yamaha XS650 I just rebuilt. It runs nice at everything but full throttle, where it seems to start missing or stumbling. Backing off even slightly stops the stumble.

I have the timing and advance set up per the factory manual, and the advance looks like it's working correctly. Points are clean and not pitted, and properly gapped. New plugs.

I did not open the carbs during the rebuild. The bike averages around 50 MPG on my commute to work.

Any suggestions?

The bike is a 96 yzf 600 (old body) with a yoshimura exhaust. Thats the only performance part. The bike has had issues from the start. After i changed the fuel pump, to a universal fuel pump it also is regulated. I bought the bike knowing the fuel pump was out. The bike idols only at high rpms such as 2500 to 3000 rpms. All the Bowls were throughly cleaned out along with all the jets and bleeders. Air filter is brand new.

Bunch of my friends want to start riding bikes on the weekends, i always wanted a bike of my own but don't really known which one to get. See the problem is i really like the Harley Davidson but my friends are like that is for zombies (old people) so i started to look around and found Ducati but still kind of like the harley better so my question is, will it be weird for a 20 year old to ride this harley davidson in full bike gear around a bunch of japanese bikes or should i stay away from harley davidson. is it a ok choice? thx!

The motor bike is in the process of being restored to it's original condition but it does not contain any plates on the bike. I bought the bike off a young fellow who painted it matt black to ride around on his fathers farm.

I've never done it and recently was informed I should be doing it every 300-500 miles (oops) anyways, what should I use, where can I get it, and how do I apply it? I saw some spray stuff, do the auto parts stores (pep boys, autozone, etc) carry them? Also, do you just apply it, move it so that the chain rotates, then apply the rest (Since not all of the chain is exposed) I"d really appreciate some help. Thanks!
