I don't care if it's honda, suzuki, kuriaken, or what, I kind of need to put running boards on tomorrow. I looked at some stuff online, but I need a one size fits all sort of product cheap and quick.

Thanks1

My wife said I can only spend $300 on a beginners motorcycle. I told her no chance in **** that I can find one without dumping more $$$ to get it fixed enough to ride. I told her I could find something decent for under $1000. Do you agree?

Heard this thought it was kind of funny. One of the men shop griping and moaning about getting stopped by a motorcycle cop and got a speeding ticket, then he was given a misdeamor verbal assault on a police officer ticket for arguing with the cop
One of the men at work commented Boy what is wrong with you don't you know you don't argue with a motorcycle cop who has a tube of preparation in his shirt pocker.

Usually you hear about carburetor tickling with Amal carbs on old Brit bikes; recently I read an article that mentioned it in relation to an old BMW boxer (a slash six, maybe?). What is tickling? How and why is it done?

I've got a 2000 CBR 929RR. I just replaced the battery thinking it was dead, rode it for one day, then went to start it! And it won't even crank over! What the hell could be wrong!

Guys berate the Japanese bike makers? Don't they realize that without the insight of their Japanese counterparts their couches (with exception to the V-Rod family) ... er bikes would be puking oil and they'd still have to adjust the carbs every second set of lights?...

When driving a motorcycle, are you expected to weave in between cars as they are stopped at the traffic light? I see many other motorists doing this but I'm always afraid to... is it okay if I stay in line with everyone else? I feel as though I'm expected to drive up to the front of the line just because I'm on a motorcyle...

I'm buying my first bike within a week. I've never been on a bike and have no clue how to shift when stopping. For example, I'm coming up on a turn and I'm in 4th gear. Do I have to drop it all the way to first gear before making the turn? Because once you let go of the throttle I'm sure the bike slows down on it's own. I could downshift, but from 4th gear all the way down to 1st gear then back up to 4th gear after making the turn seems like an awful lot of shifting. I plan on practicing in an empty parking lot and taking the MSF course as soon as I can get in one. So can I just let the bike go down to 15 mph in 3rd gear and after making the turn just keep riding till I have to shift up again.

I always put premium gas in my Honda CBR600, even though it does not require premium gas.
Does it do any good to the bike?
or it is waste of money?

bought the Honda dirtbike in 2003 in Colorado (high altitude). rode it in the mountains.

moved to California (sea level) in 2005; started it and rode it once on the street in the subdivision. could not start it again a few months later. has been sitting in the garage since.

the dealer that sold it in CO said it would need to be adjusted for lower altitude, if I ever moved.

do I need to take it to a Honda dealer, or is there something I can do to adjust/fix it here? how do you 'adjust' it to lower altitude? someone told me the old gas might be a problem...is that true?
thanks!
