I can get you parts for your scooter, so don't worry about parts for now. I really don't know of a website for cost efficient analysis. However, I will tell you this. Go into the shop and get the write up on the scooter as far as gas savings or the amount of miles you can go on the scooter. That will sum it up for practical purposes.

Now, as far as safety, here it is. The same laws apply to you on that Scooter as it would a motor vehicle. You can not take it on the highway, you must follow the traffic laws, and obey the speed limits. You must where a helmet.

I work on these two wheel devils, and the accidents I hear about are the ones of car drivers hitting the scooter rider. If you are a very good driver, chances are you would be very good Scooter rider. The problem is, you must look out for the other guy. And, you must look out for him a lot more since you will be on a Scooter.

The average Car driver feels that he has more speed than you and is tempted to take chances; hence, I tell all Scooter riders that even though the same laws apply to you, just give the Drivers the right of way to avoid accidents. Do not think for a second that a Scooter can out run a Car because it won't.

1. Wear protective gear
2. Obey all traffic Laws
3. Use those side mirrors
4. Watch out for the other guy
5. Don't ride on the side walks.
6. Use those turn signals
7. Use high octane gas!!

And, you should be fine

Happy Hunting and
Good Luck

Before you buy that model, make sure you can get replacement parts and there's a shop near you that will work on it.
Many off brands have no dealer support - never buy something from a web site!
Stick with the Japanese top 4 brands - Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha (Kawasaki doesn't make scooters).

It will be hard to convince your Mom after it takes you six to nine months to get parts for your Chinese made scooter.
You can buy a good used Honda for the same price and when it breaks, you can actually fix it!
