Motorcycles - August 2007

I was wondering what the differnece between Fluid cooled and air cooled engines are. ( Pros/Cons for both) Ive heard that fluid cooled shorten the life of the bike. Its just another thing to break ect. I was also woundering if air cooled systems get the job done. Do those bikes have any problems on hot days. Thanks

anyone know what the battery voltage should be? mines reading 11.2volts too 11.4volts ( whith ignition on )?im getting the "CHECK" on the display,and not starting,checked everything else.

1981 hondamatic cm400A Repair manual?
I need to adjust the valves on my Hondamatic and I was wondering If anyone has the repair manual and If they could scan and email me the information out of the repair manual on how to adjust them? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

I'm looking for a GPS system to be used on a motorcycle (waterproof???) and that can also be used in a car. I'd like to have a touch screen with voice response and an ear phone for using on the motorcycle. After doing some research I am still confused about all of the options and would like some recommendations. Anyone out there have experience with this?

Would a FS1E magneto (stator plate) work as a replacement for my Suzuki TS50 engine?

They look exactly the same but i need the advice of someone with a little more knowledge.

When re-building the engine, I came across the nuetral switch.

The instructions in the manual were as follows.

32.4a Install Nuetral Switch contact spring in selector drum...
32.4b ... Followed by Contact Pin.

Is the contact pin a ball-bearing and is the switch meant to go down into the selector drum.

I have read on many european sites that the new automatic CVT bike will go into production for Europe sometime in 2008 and Japan late this year or early 2008. But no discussions on anything for the US.

I bought a 1974 cb360 about a year ago and have been working on it off-and on (it's my first bike or attempt at fixing). Unfortunately it has no power whatsoever and wants to die really quickly (within about 5 minutes). It just runs like ****. And my only guess is that the floats are messed up. Can anyone help me? It's making me livid..

carbs cleaned and synched
new clean oil
points and valves adjusted properly
plenty of gas in the tank
compression is fine
spark plugs are in good shape
(I don't have filters on it yet, and I don't think that is the issue).
bike idles well while standing
no smoke


I haven't even attempted to take the engine apart because I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway. My assumption is that it's still the carbs. Maybe it is just the floats? Any other suggestions? I would really really appreciate it. Like I said, I'm really new to all of this and am not quite ready to give up yet...

I am 16, about to be 17. I have to drive about 30 minutes to work as well as share a car with my cousin, so i figured that it would be in my best interest to buy a motorcycle. I was thinking about getting a Ninja since I have heard they are great beginner bikes. I have not yet gotten my bike license, but I plan to do so soon. If anyone could give me any advice as to the best way to go about purchasing a motorcycle I would appreciate it. Should I buy a new one from the dealer? Should I get one off ebay or something? About how much would monthly payments and insurance be? Etc...Thanks!

ATV vibrates in handlebars-how can I fix? Does that stuff called VIBEFREE work? it is a bottle containing granules that you mix with water and inject it in your handlebars or that stuff called THE BAR SNAKE-rubber that also injects inside the hbars claiming to reduce vibration OR should and or can i replace my handlebars? Any ideas or help would be great! thanks
