If you use Harleys solution, you buy a "race tuner" for close to $400.00, then have them set it up, then have them run it on the dyno at about $90.00 per hour for up to 5 hours. If your smart, buy a "fuel pak" by Vance and hines. Install it yourself (takes about 10 minutes as it is just a plug in) Then go online to their site type in what year and model Harley you have, what pipes you are running (stock, V&H etc) and what air cleaner you have (stock or high volume) and they give you the new codes to enter into the fuel pak. That's it, your done. Fuel pak cost is $269.00
Now, if your gonna do engine modifications ( cam etc) than the fuel pak won't work. You have to use the race tuner.

You can if you buy the software and the connection to the ignition module and computer to re pitch the firmware. ( this is expensive) only reason to buy it is you were a shop and doing them all the time. This is no where near close to a electronic ignition and your standard carberation. WHY do you want to change it anyways? Whith Fuel injection NO REASON to Change unless you change the Cams, Headwork, Crank Pistons etc....and if you did change them just take it to the dealer to have it the adjusted and dyno ed.

Your cheapest option is to have the bikes reflashed for the changes you've made. Next option is to buy a Race Tuner (Screaming Eagle) for each bike. (NOT CHEAP) but it will allow you to change the map with a laptop. When you use the interface it will marry it to the bike (you can use it as many times as you want but only for that bike) which means you have to buy 1 race tuner for each bike.

you should not mess with it,it came from the factory set right, when you take it in for a checkup the dea;er will check all of that, they check yopur plugs and that is what they go bu,if you mess with it afraid you will cause someother problem elsewhere, like burning up your pistons etc,it is automatic anyway,it adjust itself according to the conditions at the time

See how Harley is now. next you'll have to buy software to adjust your mirrors. Screw the commander! get all that junk off and put on an s&s. ...ah man, you'll have to buy a screw driver.

there is no need to mess with it unless you change your exhaust or intake. in which case you need to buy a power commander. then you can google the maps to download for the changes you made or have the biked dyno tuned for the exact map for your bike...
