bought and rode for a week.. ran great started fine but wouldnt idle. I cleaned carb including pilot jet, no help. I rebuilt carb and now wont start unless kick start being pulled by other atv but runs with no power. Logic told me that it was fine until I messed with the carb so I bought an OE kaw carb and it still wont start and run. compression about 52 psi cold, not good but should still run. Spark is there but appears to be a little week. wont start off of starting fluid. wont pull start. wont start with jump box, etc. Only other thing I did was topped oil opff, may be a little over full but not much. I check ground and appears to be good. Only other thing I noticed is that the new carb came with overfloww tubes, one is extremely long as if it were to connect somewhere rather being a drain?? I worked on this at dusk with no lights and is possible I didnt pay enough attention to what came from where. Parts too expensive to guess.

Just curious, what's the most strict state as far as motorcycle laws? I live in Sconsin, so it's pretty lenient, as far as noise and such.

I'm contemplating buying a Harley but I'm told that one thing I must not forget is keeping the bloody chrome clean, that it's an investment of several days a week if I don't want it to rust. Is this true? Do Harley owners find it to be time-consuming, yet enjoyable?

I want a motocross style bike to trail ride. I am afraid that I will grow out of a 250 four stroke to fast. I am considering late model yz250's and cr250r's. I would like to know if the 450's power is worth the extra cost and maintenance or if I should continue looking at 250's.

I have two related motorcycle questions.

1) When riding, what would happen if you accidentally hit the engine cut-off switch? Intiutively, it would seem as if the bike would seize and throw you (since you can't move the bike in gear when turned off). But, that just seems too dangerous on the highway at 55mph.

2) When riding and you run out of gas, do you need to pull in the clutch while switching to reserve on the fly? It would seem that the bike would seize, as stated above, but the petcock is on the left side of my bike, so I can't really do both while riding.

Thanks in advance.

my handlebars vibrate-give me buzz feeling-what can i do? I am up for anythinbg to eliminate this vibration! does that granule stuff like vibe free work that you fill the handlebars with? or stuff called bar snake-its rubber that you inject inside the h.bars-it claims to reduce vibration greatly--or is best option to replace handlebars? can i do that? they appear to be standard 7/8 inch and mount same way most seem to mount- i already replaced the handlebars with mad dog anti vibration h bar grips-they seem to help a little bit Thanks for your help!

So on a 600r bike, can you maintain higher overall cornering speed by entering slightly too fast then brake up untill the apex? If so, do you use front brake, back brake, or a combination of the two?

I want to put an injector on SI type engine. Give it an electronically controlled injector. I cant alter stroke and compression ratio. Just want to know if diesel will ignite properly. I am putting centrifugal supercharging for increasing the volumetric ratio and want to make it able to run on gasoline, diesel, and if possible E85. I just bought this bike and the owner didn't have any manuals, and I have oil leaking from the expansion chamber where it connects to the cylinder head. Is this normal or is the fuel mixed too rich, there is even oil coming out of the tail pipe when I ride it. Need help respond soon.

I am looking for some tips on how to change the clutch cable on 1987 BMW K100RT. The fairings have been removed. Is there a quick and easy way to install the cable without removing the tank? I read that you could use the old cable to thread the new one unfortunately I took the old one out before reading that one.. Any help is appreciated.
