I am looking for some tips on how to change the clutch cable on 1987 BMW K100RT. The fairings have been removed. Is there a quick and easy way to install the cable without removing the tank? I read that you could use the old cable to thread the new one unfortunately I took the old one out before reading that one.. Any help is appreciated.

Bite the bullet, remove the tank and do it right.
You might be able to snake it under the tank, but you don't know what adverse affect that can have.
The cable could restrict a critical moving part, touch a hot part of the engine and melt, get stuck during operation because of it getting pinched from a moving part or .....well you get the idea.
Do it right the first time.
