I am looking to buy a motorcycle (A Suzuki GSXR-750 to be precise) and am spending about £4k and that will get me a 3 - 4 yr old model, however the same money will buy me a new or nearly new one in the States, I just have no idea of how much it would cost to ship or even how to go about it? any advice gratefully received, Thanx!

Ok, maybe I was a little over the top with my last queston. I am very very cautious and respect the power of this bike. Being my first bike, I have no problems with the power. Im not going over 70mph highway, and have not took rpm's past 4g's. I am going into turns slow and driving responsible. Why was everyone so down on this being my first bike? Im a big guy, and the bike feels so comfortable and fits me well is the reason I bought it, not the top speed. Any thoughts? Why do people have such a problem with 1000 and 1400s? It only go's as fast as u want it too!!

I own a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 and it is black and gray, so its almost impossible to keep it clean. My friend owns a 1998 Suzuki GSX-R600 and he said he washed his down by spraying it with a water hose. I always thought you didnt want to get your engine wet, but he said he did it and it was fine. So I was wondering if it was okay for me to do this. If not, then what is the best way to keep your bike clean? Any certain products?? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

When the engine is cold, and occasionally when it's warm, I will push the start button and it will click then short out. All the lights on the speedo go dark. I wiggle some wires around the positive end the lights come back on. I do this a few times until it starts up.

This has been a problem following the last two times I took the bike in to the dealership for service. Last time it happened, I took it in and they said the negative cable was loose.

This time, though, I've checked all the cables and they're all tight.

What would cause my bike, upon hitting the start button, to short out like that? Why does wiggling cables/wires fix it, while no cables appear to be loose?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 1990 suzuki katana 600, the problem is the petcock on the bike. Its made up of
1 aluminum housing
1 plastic spacer
1 gasket
1 diaphram

The problem is that there is gas shooting out of the plastic spacer! Everytime you pull back on the throttle, the gas shoots out in a nice stream? I need some quality advice on what to do! We put it back together and took it back off like 10 times and it keeps leaking. We put a new rubber seal in it and everything. Please Help

I need to replace the rubber and plastic part of my throttle on my motorcycle. But I cant take off the bar-ends in order to switch it out. Ive tried using a electric drill, and a impact screwdriver, but nothing is working. The threads are starting to get damaged because i tried so much.

Anyone have any suggestions? I need to remove the barends so I can hook the throttle cables on to it. I have a 1999 500R Ninja if it matters.

I just bought a new ninja 250, and on the rpm guage, it says to keep the engine under 4000rpm during the "500mile" break-in period. But in order to reach 25mph with staying under 4000rpm, i have to go into the 5th or 6th gear. Do I really have to stay under 4000rpm for the first 500 miles?? Please explain...

Thank you.

It is a 1992 Harley Davidson Heritage Softtail. It has been sitting the last few months and I wanted to go for a ride. After taking awhile to start, it finally came up. After it was running it was shooting out oil. I know it does that when it sits, but I don't know if I just let it keep shooting out and then put more oil in, or if I just let it sit and try again in a day or a few hours.

It ran fine before this, and did not have any leaks.

I was only going about 20 mph, but the road was wet since I had gotten caught in the rain, and the bike slid out from underneath me. 3 months ago I went off a curve and broke my hand. Both times I was out alone, without my husband. I've been riding for a year. If I do get over it, I'll not be riding alone for a long time. I would like some suggestions on how to work through my jitters. Thanks!
