Nuetral Switch?

Question

When re-building the engine, I came across the nuetral switch.

The instructions in the manual were as follows.

32.4a Install Nuetral Switch contact spring in selector drum...
32.4b ... Followed by Contact Pin.

Is the contact pin a ball-bearing and is the switch meant to go down into the selector drum.

it could be either a ball or pin style and I don't believe it goes into the drum. The neutral switch is just for the light to let you know its in nuetral
