They fly in and out of cars/trucks on the interstate. Sometimes they ride wheelies down the interstate. I shed no tears when these idiots get in crashes.

Those aren't the people who crash and get killed. It's like hoping the SUV that passes you on sheer ice goes in the ditch. Idiots never die, it's always the other guy that gets killed.

I don't agree with flying in and out of cars and trucks, but it is a perk of motorcycling - maneuverability is it's own reward as long as it's used judiciously.
As for the wheelie riding on the interstate, I'm with you. I'd prefer they all just got bumped into a ditch by the nearest 4x4 or SUV. I'm guessing they're just too stupid to realize that, while wheelying, the bike is very difficult to see. As if they weren't hard enough to see when both wheels are on the ground.

However, to be fair - most of the accidents involving motorcyles and other vehicles are the result of mistakes on the motorists part, NOT the motorcyclists.

As a conscientious rider, & a person who has seen alot of other safe riders get hurt in unavoidable accidents (usually caused by unsafe auto-drivers), I resent the fact that you are 'clumping' ALL riders together with the few that are hotdogs & dare-devils!
I actually had a deer jump jump out in front of me when I was doing 60mph on a two-lane blacktop. I slid for 180 ft before leaving the pavement, loosing most of the skin from both of my forearms, & wrenching my ankle seriously. This was in no way my fault, nor was I hotdogging in any way...
Anyone who rides a motorcycle is at the mercy of: mechanical/tire failure, weather conditions (including high wind &/or rain), road conditions (like loose sand/gravel),
animals that cross the road, other drivers, & any number of other unforeseeable problems, that probably wouldn't affect someone driving a four-wheeled vehicle.
These people need your help, not your scorn!
I hope that you are not prejudiced, this way about other things (like race or religion) too!

BTW- If it starts raining, DON'T tailgate the bikers if they slow down! If they lose traction, they will probably go down, & anyone who is too close behind them would run over them!

The reason you should sympathize with SOME motorcycle riders is that it wasn't their fault in a wreck. A lot of times motorcycles go unseen by drivers of cars who just don't see them. I agree that there is not much sympathy for people riding wheelies at 90 mph but you have to understand that not everyone rides that way.

True, there are some that act stupid, just like car drivers who speed and cut people off. That doesn't mean that all riders/drivers are like that. You can't criticize an entire group by the actions of a few.

Just look out for the majority of us while you're watching the few. We HAVE to watch out for you.

Not all motorcycle riders ride like idiots. I observe the speed limit and stay out of vehicle blind spots. I even wear a helmet. I try to be safe and courteous to other vehicles on the road.

Hey OFG (does that stand for 'Obstreperous Feckin' Gobshite ? !)

You probably don't have much sympathy (or tolerance) for any one.

I'm betting you see everything in black and white - and only see motorbike RIDERS when they are doing something you can shake your head at!

The rest of the time you're probably picking your nose, eating lunch, checking your make up and chatting on the phone - like the majority of brain dead drivers. Which is why they kill so many bikers.

(How do you like that sweeping generalisation!)

I drive/ride motorcycles, and even I have no sympathy for some of them. Same as any group of people out there...there are good ones, ok ones, and really stupid ones. It's not "motorcycle drivers" it's just "stupid drivers" in general who think they're indestructable and don't care about endangering others' lives.
So I understand why you don't have sympathy, but please dont' lump us ALL in that catergory; sometimes car/truck drivers do really stupid things that cost us our lives even when we're being careful, cautious, and curteous.

The ones that you are talking about don't deserve your sympathy beyond the fact that they are humans. When a rider gets pulled out in front of or any incedent where stupidity on the riders part was not involved, just remember that someone is not going home to their family.

The same as some people drive like idiots in cars. You can label all motorcycle riders the same. Most are very respectful law abiding citizens. As a matter of fact quite a few of my motorcycle friends are cops.

So, you don't have symapthy for any of us due to a few morons? That's your choice.

I have a strong feeling that you belong to the 5% of bad drivers that I wish would fall off the road. I have to watch out for the other 95% as well, because I can't tell you apart.

No one asks for your sympathy, just your courtesy.
