I'm with Firecracker "Live free or die". Have you ever heard the saying "Loud pipes saves lives". If I'm sitting at a light and pop it one time it for different reasons but to hold it and rev hard. Hell the sound would scare me much less anyone else, and I wouldn't do that to my bike. No one here can answer for some dumb *** in you area.

Rev hard at a light? You must be kidding.
I may give it a little blip once in a while, for various reasons.
If I ever decided to rev hard at a light, you would quickly realize the difference. It's the difference a few thousand RPM make.

It used to be necessary on 2 strokes to keep the plugs from oiling up. Modern 4 strokes have no need to do this and nobody I know does it.
Then again, there are a lot of poseurs out there, gagging for a little attention in their meaningless lives.

i almost need the hip boots its getting so deep in here. most being totally clueless as to how to even ride a bike. air cooled bikes are cold natured beasts on chilly mornings. i dont goose my bike any more than its needed, and definately not any more than 2x's normal idle speed if the motor hasnt fully warmed up.

I can only speak for me......I ride a Harley. When the bike is cold it doesn't idle well because of the size of the bore. If I was to let it idle down, it would more than likely stall, so by batting the throttle she warms up and does not stall.

I am not sure what 'a pose kind of thing' is. And I can only speak for myself.
I like riding my Roadstar and ride it every day.
I like the way it looks and I like the way it sounds.
Sometimes when it is still cool, I twist the throttle to keep it running.
Sometimes I'm just ready to go when the light turns green.
And sometimes I just like the sound.
If I am posing, the only one that I am posing for is me, cause I ride for me. It does my mind good.

It's 'cause my motorcycle is old and has issues when it's warmed up, so I rev it to keep it from dying. Good thing my rear brake works.

We ain't "motor-bikers". Just plain biker. The reason we "rev" the motor now and then at a stoplight is because it is air, and oil cooled. When we have no "airflow" over the jugs, we rev the engine to get the oil cooling.
Forgot to metion that it's a hog I ride. I tend to make the avatar pic do my talking.

because if you dont keep revving it itll stall!
also, its to remind drivers that they are there.
ever thought they they might have a revvy bike (like the er6n)? so when they go they have to rev the machine to get it moving!
also...it sounds good
