I just bought The above mentioned bike, it's in near perfect mechanical shape, and not shabby cosmeticly either, I'm looking to make the bike 'mine' though. Any ideas on customization? Nothing extreme, just something simple that people can tell isn't quite standard?

After power returned i tried starting the engine and it lost power again. Is there a fuse or something about the battery that causes this to happen. Should I replace with another battery? It has the original harley davidson battery in it. Its a 2005 harley davidson sportster.

I was told by a mechanic that it could be my carbs. Is that possible? I could see if it was the spark plug or the ignition coil. Please let me know of things to check. Thanks everyone.

Symptoms: (Ignition in 'on' position) Left turn signal works fine. Right doesn't work. (In 'park lights' position) left signal works fine. Right signal causes relay to buzz. NOTE*** Right-turn dummy light on center indicator always stays on (even if I disconnect the relay!!!) NOTE 2*** In 'hazard' mode, left AND right lights turn on but alternating, right MUCH dimmer than left. I don't think it's the relay because when I disconnect the relay the 'right-turn' dummy light remains on. Any ideas?

My father used to ride bikes, my brother wants to get a bike(but never will, he is too broke), and now I want to be brought into the world.

I've read here several times of people saying that the best way to go is get a small, cheap bike to ride around with off the streets to get the basic feeling for balance, turning, passengers, braking and acceleration, high speeds, etc. And then from their going to a MSF course to get a lot of miles behind me and learn the etiquette of driving out on the streets. So my question is....

Lets say money is tight, is it unwise to not get the smaller (perhaps cheaper) bike to learn on and instead go straight for the courses? I hope to be riding a powerful "crotch rocket" in the end and would like to only have to buy one bike that will suit those needs, not work my way up.

I went to the Secretary of State to see if they could give me a one day temp plate, but they won't let me without a title and registration. What should I do to avoid getting in trouble?

As it is mid way through the biking season I thought I would get away from DIY and lighten up my questions a bit. If you are on the right bike and hit the right line it can be as good as if not a better feeling - but then maybe I am just obsessed with bikes and need to get out more.

If you do (or have owned one in the past), I am interested in your experience with it. I am looking to purchase one in the next year or so, and have done a lot of research about them. But I need to find out what owners think of them, especially performance, reliability, ease of repairs, etc. I do not want one for an investment, but as a daily driver.

Has anyone been camping and taken their motorcycle -- ie packed up all camping gear on the bike? Me and the hubby are going to the BMW motorcycle rally in a couple weeks and we are camping out.

This is going to be such an adventure. :D
Anyone ever done the motorcycle camping thing, gimmie some tips or feedback.

Thanks!!!

I have to unplus the fuse underneath the seat or it'll kill my battery, very annoying.

I purchased a Ninja 250 this year, and will most likely be selling it next year to get a larger bike. I've heard that this model tends to resell very well. Anyone have any extimates on what I might get?
