Things you should know:
1. The battery in question is for my riding lawnmower, but its not much different then a motorcycle battery... that's why I'm asking this question in the motorcycle forum.
2. The battery is nearly dead. I have to put a battery charger on for 10-15 minutes to get it to turn over the engine.
3. I bought a new battery today and it works like a champ.
4. The old battery is not that old. About 6 yrs old.
5. It does not have fill caps but it does have two perforated plastic covers that I think I can wedge a flat-tip screwdriver (or two) into and force it open.

Now here is my questions:
A. Do you think my battery is low on electrolyte acid?
B. Is this kind of battery refillable?
C. If it is, should I use distilled water or de-ionized water?
D. Will I get a couple more years of reliable service out of this battery or should I just say forget it, and take the battery back to Sears for an $8 core refund?

I have a 2001 Yamaha R6 and when I shift gears it seems like the bike pulls real hard and it just doesn't seem to be smooth shifts in the gears.

I just purchased a new battery for my 2001 Yamaha R6 and when I installed the battery it fired up right away. Then the next day it seemed to struggle when strating. I have the choke down so that it will start correctly due to a cold engine. The ignition is in the lock position and the starter button is in the off position when it's off. I don't see anything else that would cause the battery to drain in anyway.

The THH Matte is snell and DOT approved and has back vents which I like.

HJC one is only DOT approved but I do know they are more popular.

Which one should I get?

Im looking for a bike under 500cc's. I dont care if its older or newer, it just has to be a crotchrocket/sports bike. It also must be a 4 stroke. Im not looking for a 2 stroke before everyone starts naming of the Aprila rs250. Ya they're good bikes but theres a reason I want a 4 stroke. Eventually I want something lighter & slower that I can put a turbo on. Not looking to make it amazing or super fast, I just want something different that would just keep up with bigger bikes in the straights(so please dont tell me to just get a bigger bike). And I dont need a lesson on turbos, so please dont tell me everything I will have to do to put a turbo on a NA bike. i kno i kno, lol. I am just looking for good 4 stroke bikes under 500cc? any opinions? anyone have any of these bikes? any from overseas maybe? handling? underrated bikes? I do have a few in mind but I want to here what other ppl would choose without hearing my opinions. oh and im not lookin at the ninja250, anything else tho, thanks

Here's what I know. When I hit the starter, the bike will fire right up (as long as I have the choke all the way out). If I attempt to give it any gas while in neutral it kills, if I attempt to put it into gear it kills, or if I attempt to put the choke in at all it kills. I've added some seafoam to the gas, I've even removed all the gas and gave it new (along with more Seafoam) but I still get the same results. I've let the bike idle for 5 or 10 mins without doing anything, and it still does the same thing. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks,
Mike

So I'm short 5'1, 102 and don't have many options in the bike department. I decided on a Kawasaki Nina EX 250. Tell me which bike you would buy

95 Kawasaki EX 250 black/with aqua purple strips, 4700 miles on it and has never been dropped, needs nothing for $1350 firm.

99 Kawasaki EX 250 green with blue strips 7900 miles, never been dropped small dent near gas tank, hasn't really been ridden in 2 years but is started up every once in while to keep it going, starts up every time, tires are okay for the rest of the summer. I will want to do an oil change and put carb cleaner in since nothing has been done in that 2 years except the new battery. I also know someone to do the carb cleaning manually if it needs that so it won't cost me much. Price is $1200 obo.

I'm a new rider and this will be my practice bike so keep that in mind. Not interested in a brand new one.

I just installed a detachable windshield on my '07 softail. I followed the directions very closely and everything looks fine, but I get a metal to metal rattle when going over bumps. Is this normal for a detachable windhield or did I screw up the install somehow?

I moved to Florida from Maine a couple of years ago, and the DMV forgot to add the motorcycle endorsement emblem on my new FL license. I have a copy of my old ME license that is inactive but shows the endorsement. Do I still have my motorcycle license or would I have to take the test again?

My Vulcan 750 misfires, especially at hi speeds and usually around 4000 rpm. I can't accelerate and often start slowing down if I'm over 50mph. If I change gears, it usually goes away. I've changed the plugs and plan to check and make sure the new ones are still good. What else should I check?

I've been riding for a couple of years now and I love the community amongst fellow riders. For South Coast Australian riders when I mention the Pie Shop atop of Macquarie Pass you'll all nod your heads and know how if you see a another rider sitting having a coffee etc. its always welcome to say hi and swap stories.

BUT... one thing I hate is when you are on the road, you spot another rider heading towards you, you get ready for the nod or wave, you commence waving only to be snobbed off. Not happy.

Now, I understand the rivalry between sports and cruisers... but is there another reason I’m missing??

My wife's uncle recently past away and he owned a 1980 Honda CM 200T Twinstar. Its a little rough looking with some rust and tarnish on the chrome parts, wheels, and exhaust. The tires look original but in somewhat decent shape. The odometer reads 15,049 miles and the oil in the crankcase looks nice and clean and it runs. Her aunt has no idea what price she should ask for it. Does anyone have any ideas?
