Hey people , i own a cg125 02 model and use it to get to and from work.

This morning it started as usual when i pressed the start button.
When i left work this evening it failed to start and just made a clicking sound when i pressed it so i had to kickstart.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or whats wrong ?

Sounds like you may need a new starter. Is your battery fully charged? If your headlight is bright you probably have enough battery. That clicking is probably your relay trying to send current to your starter. You can test your starter by shorting it with a screw driver but keep a fire extinguisher on hand just in case. You have a kick start so that's good. Just kick start it and drive it to a shop to get it checked out.

Sorry guys, you're both wrong.
The clicking noise is the starter "solenoid" (the battery positive cable goes to it).
Grab the solenoid while it's clicking, you'll feel it.
If the battery was to weak to crank the engine over, the starter solenoid would click once.
To test the starter motor -
Do this test with a fully charged battery.
Touch both large terminals of the solenoid at the same time with a large screw driver (careful of sparks).
That test is by-passing the solenoid and sending battery voltage directly to the starter motor.
If the starter motor turns normally, change the starter solenoid.

yeah solenoid definately, charge your battery or make sure its holding its charge... then try again. if the clicking continues try giving the starter motor a few taps (gently! ish) with a spanner that may free it, if no luck dont know if you can replace the solenoid, wouldnt have thought so by u can get second hand honda spares by the tonne i reckon

clicking is a good sign you dont have enough power from the battery ..check connections and have the battery tested
