I went to the Secretary of State to see if they could give me a one day temp plate, but they won't let me without a title and registration. What should I do to avoid getting in trouble?

You need to have the person it is registered to get a temp plate for you, no other way around it that I know of.

Your question is, what should i do to avoid getting into trouble? I would say this is a no brainer, ask someone with a pickup truck or small trailer for the favor, you may even find a new friend .Offer a few dollars or some petrol money. Check with a cycle shop. When it concerns trouble , avoid it at all cost , what goes around comes around . sofly523 , if this is not possible have a friend ride it for you !!

If you dont have the title and registration and/or the bike is not currently registered; riding it can only be done with assuming the risk involved. If you are stopped; I doubt the fines will be worth the risk. If I were you I would find someone with a truck and load it. or get a small uhaul if you have a tow hitch.

Go for it when you get stoped and you will tell the officer you just bought it and your brother did not show up with the trailer like he was supposed too. then call your brother while the officer is talking to you ***** him out but have it all planed. with him knowing or your friend pretending to be family. he will say he forgot or I have a flat and can't get one of the lugs loose and you have the tools locked up in your garage and could you hurry home and bring them to him you cuss under breth etc, not to voiceterus, tone it down abit show officer bill of sale etc. he will admit his family is probubly the same laugh a bit and ask you to be carful on the way home he my even send an officer in your area to check on you around the time you are supposed to arrive so lie with conviction. luck

Well as others have said already, you should either rent a u-haul or have a friend with a pick up put in the back and dont ride it! you would be taking a big risk! sometimes thing happen when you least expect it!

Load it up on a trailer and take it where you would like it to be. That's assuming you have a right to move it, which you really have no proof of ownership without a title.

Wait until you get things in order before you ride it.That's the way it is normally done.I'm sure you can find another mode of transportation.

Rent a u haul, that is much safer and less expensive especially if you get caught. undoubtedly u you will. That is what the law is looking for. Don't chance it
