My bike has been sitting through the winter and it still starts up well, but it revs up to a medium rpm in the idle position. I have already checked the throttle, and nothing is getting stuck or binding up. Throttle moves smoothly, cleanly, and all the way open and closed again. Cable slack IS allowing it to close.

The inside of the carb looks VERY clean. There is NO fuel resin or gunk at all. Why would it rev up? This happened to my other bike as well, even after a good carb cleaning, so I think this is a common issue.

I don't want to do anything illegal i just want it to be loud enough so people will notice me more easily I have insurence and i don't think it'l allow me to bore any holes in the pipes

I'm a 113lb girl who just bought an 05 GSXR 600 which was already pre-owned by a woman so it has mods done and is suited for a woman.....

All my guy friends keep saying I'm going to kill myself....... but I've wanted a bike forever, I've been on them with friends, and I'm going to take the class..... I love everything that has an engine pretty much and I'm a big tomboy :P

Ive just done a overhall of the carbs didnt find much crud I put them back together as I thought but i put the bottom bowls on the wrong carb ooooooops lol so after a lot of swearing I got them together again put em on the bike but now its running abit rich the plugs are black sooty it will idel for a while but soon clogs up so i clean them up & she runs fine when I take it out on the road its fine and pulls as she should but when i come to a junction it cuts out and wont start again what have i done and how can i rectify this problem

my scooter will start but ti wont um...go. and to make it start i have to give it gas and when it finaly starts it will die if i don't give it full throtle. and when i do it won't move...

its a omni omx-600

btw on my way to work....it was feeling sluggish...(right be for this prob started)

02 bayou has a chatter in the right side when you first start it up,but it gos away whn you rev the motor/? then after you ride it and it gets warm it gets better? changer the oil and filter seem to help some a local mechanic said they all didi this ??? is there a clutch adjustment inside the case or something could be loose? its internal no smoke or any noise riding or reving it thanks

My friend went on vacation for 2 weeks and left his 2007 Kawasaki xr 14 or gs 14 or what ever it is. He want me to start it every 3 days so that the battery wont die. I cant believe that they cant make a battery for a bike that last more then 3 days. Sounds like nonsense to me. Also, Ive never rode a bike before and I want to try it out and take it up and down the block. Do you think that would be a good idea?

My wife gave me this bike for fathers day, but it just isn't me. I like cruising and NOT bar-hopping. HD has a lot of chrome and cool pipes. Looks sounds great but I'm also afraid of maintenance on HD's. On the other hand, Honda seems bad on resale but rides REAL smooth. I could trade even for used, but a new Honda comes with warranty.

It never fails. I tell them, "Do not step on the pipes." Yet they all do. All my exes have pipe tatoos, too.

There must be a good way to remove the shoe goo. Any recommendations?

Idles GREAT. Accelerates GREAT. But when I let go of the throttle after accelerating (right before shifting) it backfires. Not like those LOUD gunfire types of BF but more like some sputtering. Any ideas?

my 1997 hondacr250 was running great last week , i drove it with the choke on and fouled the plug out , i bought a new NGK spark plug and now it cant idle at all. i drove it around some but still no idle. please help.

I am going to buy some new mirrors for my ZZR600 and I was wondering if these mirrors will fit on my bike. I had dropped it a couple of times and the mirror broke and fell off so I have to buy some new ones. I am not looking to spend a whole lot of money but I still want it to look halfway decent. If anyone knows of any other mirrors that look better and are cheaper then please let me know. I was just wondering these will fit. thanks

I'm a short, lightweight girl looking for a motorcycle. This would be my first time riding a bike myself (I've always been the passenger.) I also have never driven with a clutch. Any suggestions on what would be a good bike for me to look into?? Thanks..

I am trying to run this in a racing car (low power requirements). At 8000 rpm (revs of alternator) the alternator produces 6 volts. With car alternators the gearing is usually around 2 or 3 times engine speed.
To get 12 volts I will have to run at 16000 rpm (alternator) is this normal?
Surely 12 volts should be produced at bike engine tick over?

I have a 1999 Suzuki Bandit 1200s. I took my motorcycle to the shop to have some very minor work done on it. The guy their told me I should get a jet kit put in it. I have no idea what that is or what it does. Could someone please explain what a jet kit is and if I should get it or are they just trying to make me spend money?
