Yeah, they are kinda noisy when cold. The clutch adjustment is on the outside of the motor. It's behind the small cover on the main clutch cover. There are two small screws that hold it on.

loosen the locking nut, turn it counter clockwise until you feel a slight resistance, turn it clockwise just a bit and lock down the nut. Mark the original position just in case you muck it up.

A heavier oil like a 20-50 will quiet things down. It uses two clutches and the noise comes from the front clutch. I used to have a stock of shimming washers that I used to take the slop out and quiet them down. By the way, if it gets real loud then you know the nut has come off behind the clutch. The locking washers used to break and the nut would back out into the clutch. If you ignored it there was trouble as it is the gear that drives the oil pump!

220 Kawasaki Bayou

The 220 Bayou has a centrifical clutch inside the right engine cover, there is a good chance that one of the weights are worn causing noise. It is easy to remove the cover and inspect the clutch although I would recommend getting your hands on a Kawasaki service manual so you have the proper procedures for inspecting the clutch assembly.

If it the only problem is annoyance I wouldn't be to concerned. ---yet.
If there is a noticeable increase then start poking around. If your not handy with a manual or a certified Mechanic messing with clutch can tricky. Especially when rattles are common and sometimes expected over time.

Does the noise go away if you lightly press on the shift lever (not enough to shift gears)?
There is an adjuster for that.
Since you say it goes away after reving it, it might have something to do with the automatic clutch.
The shoes could be loose on the pivots.
