Don't listen to that bunch of retards.
The fuel strainer/filter is in the tank .
Fuel tap has to be removed to get to it.
Its a micromesh nylon filter, forget the particle size it will stop 20~30 micron or so.
The tap has a brass stand pipe for normal running and a hole that often gets blocked for the reserve.

That model doesn't have a fuel filter.
95% of Jap bikes don't have fuel filters.
There is a fuel "strainer" attached to the petcock inside of the fuel tank.
It's only needed to stop big stuff.
You can install an "in-line" fuel filter.
Your bike's over 10 years old and you just cleaned the carbs.
I'd recommend installing one.

There are two possibility's.
1) Agents the side of the vehicle next to the tank unit called and in line filter
2) It may be on the side of the fuel tank with a clip to hold it there.
Be sure to release the fuel pressure by opening the gas cap, don't smoke use a safety stand and be careful. Good Luck and GOD Bless

If you look under the tank, where the petcock is, the fuel filter should be in the line going from it, to the inlet to the pipe distributing the fuel between your carbs, good luck.

In the line from the tank to the carbs. If you don't see one in that line, there's not one.
