my 1997 hondacr250 was running great last week , i drove it with the choke on and fouled the plug out , i bought a new NGK spark plug and now it cant idle at all. i drove it around some but still no idle. please help.

could the float be stuck open some?

check your plug gap two strokes are extreamly tempermental about that. Hondas 97-99 were known to be jetted very rich from the factory. I had a 99 CR250R I put a pro curcuit pipe on it and it was still rich, I ended up leaning it out two jet sizes. that really helped the bike, and it started easier and quit fouling plugs.

If you are gonna take the manifold boots off I would also shine a light on the reed.
2-cycles get gummed up extremely easily. Especially if you run below optimum temp.

try the needle and seaet, it might be getting stuck toooo much fuel or tooo little getting through will cause this.....

Its a common replaceable item on all bikes.

or on the carby, the piolt screw, wind it out, that could be the other prob

Clean the carb, especialy the pilot jet.
Clean the air cleaner.
