Hi, I'm a beginner female rider... I was wondering if anyone suggest that I start out riding on a moped to get the hang of being on a 'bike'... I know there are major differences with size, speed, weight, style.. But just to get started.. I already have the ninja 250 in mind, but would like to get comfortable riding something easier first... Think it would help or?

I have 1974 Honda CB550. I bought it a week ago and the guy stated it up just fine with the electric starter. I went out to start it yesturday and the batterie was almost dead. After a couple attemps it would hardly even turn and then nothing.

I am new to motorcycles. I am aware of the choke, the fuel pettock, the clutch ec.

What is the proper way to kickstart it? A step-by-step would really help. I really don't think anythings wrong with the bike. I am just doing it wrong.

when i get down to 5mph to stop my front wheel squeeks.its like a wheel barror. Any ideas on how i can fix it. Also i have a squeeky brake, is this easy to fix too? i dry weather ride only.

I just bought a 1974 Honda CB550. It runs pretty well but the guy I bought it from told me the gas in was old and untreated there is about a quarter tank left. What should I to? I don't want to run old gas through it.

My idea was to get a fuel stabilizer, put a third of the bottle in with the old gas. Then fill it up with premium. Is that a good idea? What do you reccomend?

So I've been lurking around here for quite a while now and I've noticed some sincere hatred between the Harley guys and the crotch rocket guys. I find it amusing ...and I can dish it just as well as I can take it. I'm a jap bike guy because I like the speed, handling and performance. Much of my time is spent on the racetrack, and that's what i love.
I ride with harley riders, european bike guys and (mostly) jap bike riders.
So why the animosity? Jap bike riders think harley riders are posers and Harley riders think the same about jap bike riders.
We all agree that 2 wheels is better than 4, so why all the fighting?

and wear my harley jacket, and my harley boots and harley shirt, and even have a harley belt and matching billfold and harley scarf, I still cant pick up a chick? Only dudes hit on me. whats wrong? Do I need matching boxers too to make me look cool?

I just installed a FMF exhaust on my 230. It now does not run well, sounds like it is running lean. I have to set the choke to 3/4 open for the bike to run without missing. It appears they changed the design of the Honda cabs as I cannot find the fuel/air screw. Any suggestions? Only knowledgeable replys please.

i just got a large size rally pack for some trips. it's 10''x13''x17"...the big one. since i ride solo, i'm plannin to velcro it to the sissy bar. is there a better way to secure it to the b-itch seat? is originally designed for luggage rack, but this bike didnt come with 1, and i cant afford to add 1 on right now.

Bought a bike and I feel like they totally screwed me with all these ridiculus charges? Bike was $4799 After all the chargers came to $6030 +tax? says freight was $798 Destination $393 Assembly $408 Prep $179 Although they game me $325 worth of so called (free) stuff+delivery. LOL
I'm thinking of taking it back! I only put 4 miles on it and had it 24 hours. How screwed did I really get? Should I take it back or demand some charges be refunded?

I own a '04 Yamaha TT-R 125LE. I bought it brand new from a dealer brand new last year around Christmas time. (Never sold at one their other stores that is shutting down) anyway, when the engine is at normal operating temp. it idles really slow and crappy and then it dies. How do I adjust the idle speed or what is wrong? I am wondering if adjusting the idle speed doesn't work if the bike is vaporizing the gas to fast or if it's flooding itself? I took a closer look at the carb today and when the bike is just idling or sitting (not running) and the gas is is turned to "on" the gas just pours out of the overflow tube on the carb bowl. What's wrong?

Hey, i've been hearing about this "vision" test that i need to take. But I wear glasses...so does that mean I won't be able to get the permit if i dont pass the test without any glasses? or will i be able to take the test with my glasses on?
