Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
Every bike has it's own starting idiosyncrasies.
Most bikes -
Shift the transmission to neutral - turn the fuel petcock to
on - turn the choke to start - turn the kill switch to run - turn on the key and press the starter button (or kick start it).
Oh...I almost forgot. Every Suzuki street bike - the clutch lever "has" to be pulled in. Whether the trani is in neutral, or in gear.

First ...... turn the key to on. Make sure the fuel valve is on if it's a dirt bike. If it's electric start, turn the key to start, if it's a dirt bike, jump on the kick starter on the right side. In all cases, MAKE SURE IT'S IN NEUTRAL BEFORE you try to start it. Once you get it started, drive it to the nearest dealer and tell them you need lessons in how to ride before you become a grease spot on the road.

Start from the top of a hill, when the bike starts rolling jump. If it doesn't start, try again.

put it in neutral most likely. then slowly release clutch down to first, then up two notches to second and so on,
if you do not know how to drive a stick shift, this will be difficult.
