I own a harley and I work on it myself. Yes!!! It does have a vent hose. Look at the front of the tank between the tank and the triple clamp. There is a hose that runs out from under the speedo console it connects to another hose that runs down the frame and exits under the bike. If that connection came loose then gas could blow back and hit you in the face. Check that hose connection.

i ride a harley, and i have an extremely hard time beliving this post in being true. either a: u forgot to put the gas cap back on, or b: u were rockin the bike back and forth with the cap off...and the gas inside the tank splashed up. those are the ONLY 2 scenerio's i can accept. and yea, all bikes have an overflow...not just harley's.

No, the tank is sealed, except maybe a one way vent in the cap, which should not leak. The gas is gravity feed as there no fuel pump, so the cap lets in air so it not have a vacuum and stop fuel flow.
Turn off the fuel valve and remove the fuel line. You may have to remove the seat and then remove your tank. Mine have one screw under the seat and the tank slide back off two rubber grommets. Inspect the tank for a hole from wear and check your rubber grommets. The cap may need replaced, so, check the rubber there too. I hope it not a hole in your tank. It can be fixed, but, may be hard finding someone to do it.

properly we've 3 automobiles...Nissan Marano...$70. Saturn $35 and we certainly have a mustang that has incredibly some artwork carried out to it (teach motor vehicle) so it eats by gas...have not crammed it up this season yet when I had to wager i might say $50-$60

Overflow line for gas? Are you crazy good way to start your bike on fire. Check your cap make sure it's tight, make sure it's not comming from the vent hose.
