i am in Ontario. you might get away with using the riding mower if you put a slow moving caution sign on it and it was or could be considered a farm tractor.
a little home one now that is different . the law is that if it has a motor or engine and a seat you must have a permit or licence. this is why we see people buying the motorized skate boards that they stand up on no permit needed.

I assume it would be the same as any farm equipment,You have to post a slow moving vehicle triangle on the rear.Of course you are not allowed on the interstates but you can ride on all the other roads. If you are just going to cruise around you might not get away with it,but if it is for farm purposes you will not have any problems.

I think it would be acceptable as long as you are not riding on a busy street. If its taxed or not should not make a difference. That would make bicycles illegal to ride on the road which obviously is not the case. As long as you are not travelling to work on it, you should be ok.

There are guidelines set in place by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. See link below, but basically, you need headlights, tail lights, and a slow-moving vehicle permit from your local department of motor vehicles.

Not sure you can do that since it's a non-taxed vehicle. Just stay near the shoulder and you should be fine.

Good luck.

It's illegal unless you are just trying to mow your yard. If you want to go to the store on your lawn mower, then it's illegal.

You should at least have a "slow-moving vehicle" sign on the rear.
