I just replaced the battery in my 01 Mustang GT. I also replaced the terminal connection clamp on the positive terminal. I have power (interior lights, radio, headlights, etc. work fine). However, when I turn the starter, the engine doesn't turn, and I lose all the power to my lights, etc. If I giggle the positive connection, I get my power back, but still can't start the motor.

I tried jumping it, that doesn't work. I was able to push start it, but after I killed the motor, the same problem exists.

My battery guage shows I'm at full capacity.

When I was driving, my temperature was at H and steam was flying out my AC vents (not good signs). So I put cold water in it after I waited 2 hours for the radiator to cool off and the same thing happened. And i have a 94 Ford Ranger for extra info.
I'm car illiterate and I need help.

ok I have a 1999 Lincoln Continental the service engine soon light came on and was reading coil one is misfiring. So I take it to the shop and have coil one replaced. Well when the mechanic took the plate off to change the coil he found about 6 inches of oil in there. he blew it out, tightened the valve covers and replaced the coil and said I must have a oil leak.....here's the thing I check my oil religiously in fact I checked it right after I left his shop and the oil level is great and has been since the last oil changed it's just below MAX. So do you think this is old oil from a previous problem? Old oil from the valve cover being lose, or do you think I have a leak?

Is it the timing belt? I can turn the key and all my lights come on, but it doesn't start. If I try it again.. it'll work on the 2nd or 3rd time.

My 1999 Ford Taurus is having transmission problems. We took the car in for a transmission service and the shop overfilled the transmission fluid. Way overfilled it. My mother took it in and didn't save any of the paperwork on it. It wouldn't shift much at all, but I did get the fluid level down where it needed to be, and it would work, but had a problem shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I added some transmission additive and readjusted the fluid again, and it still shifted from 1st to 2nd, but did so with some slippage. After a couple hundred miles, now it won't go unless you rev up the motor to 3000 to 4000 rmps. I know that it isn't good to do that, so I have parked the car and need to find out what is really wrong. If anyone out there has any ideas, or knowledge, please let me know. I would really like to see if I can repair it myself. It has about 135,000 miles on it. The service engine light is on, and I assume that it has to do with the transmission. HELP!

According to the BBC, every 3 seconds someone puts petrol into a diesel car. The costs to fix can range into hundreds of pounds - as well as a great deal of embarrassment!
Whilst the diesel pump nozzle is too big to go into the petrol hole on a car, the petrol nozzle can easily go into the diesel hole.
I had an idea for a simple, cheap attachment that might solve the problem. I think it can be easily made for different cars and cost pennies.
Think it could work? If so, then how do I get it made/sold/etc.?

Here is the idea:

I have a 95 Grand Marquis...I recently found out the heater core is either bad or has a hole. I was told it is a big job, BUT i could cut the hose and cap it as a quick fix. I was told I would loose my heater, but everything will be find. So I have a couple questions. First, is this ok to do or a bad idea...are there any ramifications? Second, how would I do it, just clamp it or do I need to seal it? Also as it has got worse, the car started to over heat, is this a side effect of a bad heater core?

The car is an old Volkswagen Rabbit. When it ran out of gas, I cut out a section of the rusted gas line and replaced it with rubber. Now it's not getting gas and I can't find any valve to let air out of the line. Can I prime it with starting fluid or gas?

This is a 1992 Tempo GL (Vulcan V6, ATX transaxle)

I took this video with the car set in Neutral, as you can see the tachometer needle becomes unstable near 3,000 rpms, this is more evident when the car is in motion and it also make the car acceleration unstable, I have no clue why this is happening!

After the 3,000 rpms threshold is reached the engine again regains power and can go at top speed.

Does this possibly have to do with the MAF or TPS sensors?
Does anyone have an idea of what's happening?

My BMW 3.25i automatically veered to the right if I don't hold the steering wheel tightly. I called a BMW service agent and asked him about aligning my wheels and he said that they can't aligned it until they check the front supensions..saying some older model have bad supensions. My car is a 2001 and already had the 55000 miles maintenance work done 6 months ago..do you think he is trying to rip me off? Why can't he just aligned it? Also he said an oil change would be $85..does that sound right?

Okay, so my husband's car "died" this morning... It will start [Barely] but only go for another block or so, and then it will stop again! He said that the little fan in the radiator is not spinning and that it's hard for him to steer... Can anyone tell me with just these details what is wrong?

I just bought a used car. I've needed jump starts a couple of times. The battery looks new, there isn't any corrosion.

Do I just need to do some good driving for awhile to get the battery in good shape?

Thanks.

My car ('96 4.3L V8 Caprice) is leaking coolant. When I drive, the car does not overheat, but it seems to be losing a lot of it. Every week, my low coolant light comes on, and I have to add a 1/2 gallon or so. When I park my car overnight, there is a puddle on the ground. My oil is not brown, so I dont think there is anything wrong with my headgasket(s). What could be the problem?

Driving down the freeway last night I noticed my 94 Toyota truck started making a much deeper and louder noise. I limped it home and checked it out today. Checked the oil and it was fine. Someone said it may be the transmisssion but it seems to shift fine even though my clutch is starting to go. It sounds like the noise is coming from the transmission when I start it up and let it idle. There are no holes or disconnections in my exhaust. I did notice some oil had leaked around the rear differential and I don't know of its related. I was wondering if it would be a horrible idea to drive it the mile down to the mechanic or pay for a tow truck. I have already used my 3 freebies on the AAA card so the tow would come out of my empty pocket.

the battery on my 91 mercury topaz wont hold a charge and the alternator belt keeps breaking. We had the alternator checked and its fine so the only other thing that could be the problem is the power steering. right? so we are going to get a new one but its 22 dollars cheaper if we bring in the old one before we buy the new one. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove it. any other observations about this problem would help too. thanks
