Okay, so my husband's car "died" this morning... It will start [Barely] but only go for another block or so, and then it will stop again! He said that the little fan in the radiator is not spinning and that it's hard for him to steer... Can anyone tell me with just these details what is wrong?

Car Type & Mileage?

1; Sounds like he needs a Tune-Up!

2; Air Vent in Gas Tank or Gas Cap maybe Clogged! Builds Vacuum Stopping Fuel Flow! (Remove Tank Cap and see how it runs, Replace Bad Cap!)

3; What does the Battery Look like? 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 Years Old or looks Swollen on the Sides Replace it!

4; "Fans" He has a "Radiator Fan & A/C Fan". A/C Fan works mainly when the A/C is tuened on, Radiator Fan is "Heat Activated" and comes on when the Engine is at Operating Temp. off when Cooler.

5; Power Steering may be Bad Belts (Cracked or Warn, Replace All!), Low Fluid, Low Speed Pump Because of Low Engine RPMs, Bad Pump!

Is the little fan on the radiator doesn't spin ever, then tell him to check the temperature of the engine it should be on the dash by the speedo. It may be overheating.

As for the hard to steer, it could be the power steering fluid is low. Or when the car shuts off it's hard to steer cause the car is off due to being power steering.

What kind of car? What year?

Good luck.

Not many details there, but you might start simple by checking the fuses in the fuse block. Sounds like no power steering is working. Maybe it is something simple and it blew a fuse that controls the fan. Some cars have fuses under the hood and most have some under the dash on the drivers side.

Not enough information. The problems are likely unrelated. We don't know the type of engine. We don't know whether it is computer controlled or not. We need to know if it does this when it is warm or cold or both. It could be a computer issue.

As for the steering, that could be as simple as being low on power steering fluid. Let us know more about the vehicle and conditions of failure.

Broke a belt this explains '' hard to steer'' not spinning power steering pump and alternator not spinning, alternator cannot keep charge on battery so ''it dies'' because battery is dead.

The cooling fan has nothing to do with his stalling...The battery is nearly dead and not being charged..because of that the engine is losing power and would account for the hard steering (no power).
First thing to do is get that alternator checked (the output voltage and amperage)..most likely, it has to be replaced...

the only two possible answers i can come up with is that there is a broken serpentine belt or there is a pulley froze or locked up, if the belt is not broken tell him to try to spin all of the pulleys ( all of the round things the belt raps around) by hand one at a time and the one that wont turn is the culprit

I would say that your husband has a Mini with the electric power steering and that the charging system has a fault ie belt/alternater.
