I just bought a used car. I've needed jump starts a couple of times. The battery looks new, there isn't any corrosion.

Do I just need to do some good driving for awhile to get the battery in good shape?

Thanks.

yes, this does happen. But there could be other problems as well. It could be that there is a dead cell in the battery, or the alternator is having problems. go down to a parts store like Napa and they'll usually check that stuff for you for free. I remember when I went on a 3 week vacation and hadn't driven my truck at all that when I got back I needed a jump, but once I got out and drove for a while it would fire right up again. Good Luck!

Battery Looks good and Clean, Old used car sellers trick! How Old is the Battery? 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 Years or looks Swollen on the Sides Replace it! Longer Driving won't full Recharge the Battery. Take it out and Have it "Load Tested" (To See if it will hold a Charge!) at the same time Test the Alternator! (Alt. may be causing Battery to Drain!)

If after your first 20 minute drive the battery dies again, it's not holding a charge.

Yes ,but you need to take it to a parts store and have them check to see if it has any dead or weak cells. The check is free.
