All of a sudden one day the 4th gear (highway gear) on the car poped out of place and when put back into gear it would pop out again when any accel was applied. It would run in fourth gear as long as I would hold the stick down but then eventually it would not run in gear and just grinded. What when wrong and what needs to be done to get it fixed? Thank you!

they all lie and overcharge, and then screw something else up on you're car. i am never buying a used car again, the only way to not get screwed is to buy a brand new car that has a warranty.

I don't have the money to buy new cables so I was wondering if I can just replace the terminals themselves with the one's that just clamp the cables on.

I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette that has a front wheel bearing that is about to go out. I was quoted for $477 plus costs for taxes and shop fees. I've been told this is a big time rip off considering this price quoted was for ONE bearing.

I want to call around but I really dont know what I'm asking for and want to know the "lingo" so I won't get another ridiculous quote.

Help!!!!

I have a Toyota Camry 1989. It is leaking oil so I put about a quart in every month. The oil is therefore pretty clean, but it's time to change the filter. Is it possible to change the filter without draining the oil? How? (I'm assuming it's not too hard to change oil...)

Also, would it be bad to drain the oil, change the filter, and put the oil back in again?

I don't normally work on cars.. I know very little about the mechanics of vehicles. I am looking to save money on repairs... I need as much information as possible for fixing or replacing the front Axles on a 1991 Geo Prizm. If you have any information, or if you can guide me in a direction where I could get this kind of information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Note: There is a clicking noise when turning. I had it looked at by a professional, but I didn't care for the price they suggested. So I decided I will learn to fix it myself someway or another. Please be very specific... I know very little about cars. Thanks You

I live in southern CA where the summers get very hot and the winters are mild. We don't get much rain and obviously no snow. I wax my car about once a quarter - or 3-4 times a year. This seems to work fine as long as I make sure to wax the car right before the HOT part of summer. Any other recommendations? My car is a silver sedan.

I added maybe a quart of the cheap green stuff to the pink antifreeze that came with my car (2002 PT Cruiser). I couldn't find the pink stuff and I got sick of looking for it, so I topped it off with the green stuff that everyone is familiar with.
Did i basically put a time bomb in my engine, or did I just make the pink stuff change to an ugly gray and otherwise no big deal.?

hi,
I'm helping my roommate fix his 91 accord. To get the bumper off I had to pull the battery, and now the car won't start with the battery in, and the "security" system is acting up. I think some security systems from that time would lock down after having the battery disconnected to prevent theft. How do I disengage the security lock down to start the car? If security didn't lock the engine down what could it be?

(I haven't touched any engine parts yet, and the car got into the garage under it's own power. The lights and everything else works with the battery in).

Thanks!
