I added maybe a quart of the cheap green stuff to the pink antifreeze that came with my car (2002 PT Cruiser). I couldn't find the pink stuff and I got sick of looking for it, so I topped it off with the green stuff that everyone is familiar with.
Did i basically put a time bomb in my engine, or did I just make the pink stuff change to an ugly gray and otherwise no big deal.?

first three answers are all wrong, call the chrysler dealership and ask them if they suggest mixing coolants and the answer will be absolutely not. You didnt add that much but i would go to a shop that does coolant flushes and have it flushed out and the correct coolant put in, figure the going rate for this parts and labor is around 70.00

First to all the idiots who don't know anything Antifreeze is not just Antifreeze There are different types and some cars require special kinds. If you use the wrong kind you can kiss your warranty and engine goodbye. As someone else here stated check with your local dealer on what your car requires. If yours is one of them get it changed ASAP.

No big deal. Antifreeze is antifreeze. Some manufacturers add a colorant that changes colour when it needs replacing. It never touches the working parts of your engine, only the water galleries.

No big deal at all. The long life pink coolant is designed to last a long time. This gaurantee of long life no longer exists if it is mixed with the green stuff. Just change it sooner than you would have done otherwise. But nothing bad will happen.

One is summer time coolant(crimson) - i will/t say for particular as i can't/have not got any opt to waste the money for: however the fairway one is for wintry climate chilly and not freezing. questioning approximately it, the crimson stuff is susceptible stuff for window washing device in summer time with dishsoap in it. I by no potential purchase the crap. the fairway is for "chilly climate" so the engine won't freeze. The crimson is for heat temps because it is going to freeze sturdy. the fairway stuff gets acidic while left interior the motor vehicle for over 2 years. in any different case it rather is used on ALL engines.
