Have the engine coolant temperature sensor checked. It may be telling the computer that the engine is hot when it is indeed cold. This will keep the computer from giving the engine enough fuel to start on>

On some of the older models there was a cold start injector.
Try turning the key on then off then try starting. this should give a shot of fuel.
You may have a dirty injector problem and it is effecting the cold starts. a bottle of TechRon injector CLEANER (not the treatment) or Berryman's B12... should help.
Were the injectors ever cleaned ?
change the fuel filter as that wouldn't hurt.
The fuel pump could be getting week and not enough pressure.

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor tells the computer to add extra fuel on a cold start. If it's bad, the computer may not know your engine's cold. Check or replace the ECT.

It sounds like you need a tune up. You may need new plugs, or your wires may need to be replaced.

The other possibility is that your carb needs a little fine tuning.

Good luck
