I don't have the money to buy new cables so I was wondering if I can just replace the terminals themselves with the one's that just clamp the cables on.

Yes, go ahead and get cheap replacements. They will work well enough for most cars unless you have high current draw like multiple off-road lights or amps and subwoofers. However, if you get a set that is painted take time to remove the paint from the inside of the new terminals with a dremel tool to get better connection.

I would imagine that they would work, but if you really have a doubt you should call a part store with your jeep info and the brand of cables you would like to use. They would be able to say yes or no and the things to watch for. They would also be able to recomend something for your specifc make and model and year of vehicle. BEst part is... they do that stuff for free. :-)

They can be used but the corrosion will ruin the cables quicker because it can get under the coating and go all the way down to the other end eventually and cause you to have problems starting your car.

Do not do it. They will need cleaning because they are not sealed to the cable and they will corrode.
