I have a 97 cadillac deville and the other day i seen the coolant temp. reach about 240. I shut off car and seen that my belt on my waterpump was off and that it had burned into the tensioner. I replaced it but when I started it again the temp stilll went to about 220-225. I noticed the fans didn't come on. When are they suppose to come on. When the AC is ran they work. DO you think the high temp have something to do with the fans not working. do you know what might be the problem. I'm scared cuz i have read all the other forum about how these cars have head problems. please help.

I got a performance muffler from advanced autoparts and put it on my 2000 Toyota Celica Gt. It still has the other stock muffler on it and I put the performance muffler on the end of the pipe in the back of the car. Will it have a rumble and how long does it take to break in?

I own a 1994 toyota pickup truck.Today I was driving(65-70 mph) in 90 degree weather with the ac on.The gauge went about 1/8" to 3/16"past middle.

The (2-row) radiator (scilla brand) is less than a year old.I just had the fan clutch replaced about two weeks ago.My radiator is full.I figure if it was my thermostat, it would either be stuck shut, which would make it run hot "soon", or stuck open which would keep it from reaching operating temp.

When I took the top off my radiator, it was running over.A "very full" radiator would not casue this problem (would it?).What about a bad radiator cap, what would be the symptoms of that?

I am planning on driving to TX (across AZ and NM-both places can get really hot) in a week.Should I just "bite the bullet" and install a (about 1" thicker) three row radiator(modine, or napa)?

What about flushing the system, adding a 30/70 mix of coolant to water, and then add a coolant additive (like water wetter)?

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I know what I am about to ask may sound stupid but its for safety reasons.

I have replaced the headlight socket on the drivers side. I would like to replace the headlight socket on the passengers side but to do so I must remove the battery.

Now for my question when removing the battery in order to avoid being shocked should I remove the positive or negative first?

Any other information will be greatly appreciated. Also please do not leave any comments about me or my question being stupid.

Please help! I was stuck in a bad rain storm yesterday through about 1.5 feet of water and the car stalled. I was able to restart it and drove home about 1 mile away. By the time I got home, the engine starts to knock very loud. The air filter was totally wet and it appeared that some water got into the air intake. The oil appears to be normal, no water. I towed the car to a mechanic and is waiting to be checked. The knocking improves about 30% and the car can now start and run OK .... but the knocking remains. Please give me some advices. Thank you very much in advance.

Heya we have a 1994 jeep wrangler that we have recently had to get it smogged to get it on base. The vehicle was overseas for 2 yrs. Once it got home it sat, never driven for 1.2 years with the same full tank of fuel it had over a yr ago. Also the oil hasnt been changed in over 2 years. The tech mentioned how old is the fuel in it, but he never said much else about what the problem could be. Everything else passed on it except the NO PPM. Just wondering if you guys had any ideas Thanks in advance.

The car in front slammed on the brakes, I "scuffed" the rear bumper and 2 very minor scratches that can be removed without taking to the shop. Of course they are trying to suck out the money out...there was no police report and no witnesses, she did get a hold of my driver license and insurance though. She is now however trying to get all the money she can out of me saying that she needs between $1,200 - $1,600, when her car does not need a bumper replaced! What can I do? I feel it's not resanable.

Last night my car (1994 Mazda protege) honked one long consistent honk for no reason. It only stopped after opening the door twice. No one was in the car, it had been untouched and park for hours. It also does not have an alarm, nothing but the horn went off. This also happened like 3 days before this one did in the same situation, only the horn; no lights or anything else was going on. Also the emergency brake light stays on while driving even if the brakes off. It will stay on for maybe 10 mins or so. All of this just started going on within the past week. I'm sure my neighbors are pissed as hell lol

So, is there any common fix for this or any theories to whats wrong?

My 1985 Greenwood Corvette has not been driven since 1999. I have a new Corvette 350 motor for it, new gas tank, new brake system, new radiator and new Power Steering Pump. I spoke with the Automotive teacher who will take in this car and over the next 2-3 months, his class will instlal the parts and repair the car and in general use the car as a class project. There is nothing wrong with the interior or exterior. It's just that the car hasn't been driven in 8 years. What level of service should I expect? I'm expecting that when they're finished, I can go there and drive the car home with no problem.
